I just built one this year and it's a great shooter. You can email me if you want for details. I'm in Calif. so it looks a bit weird because of the stock. randyman57@hotmail.com One of the other guys on this forum was a great help

Re: Skippy Flies via 32gr Motivation
Great photos and it sounds like a great time. Most of the squirrels around here have taken to their burrows so I guess that wraps up this year. I build a .204 on an AR platform this year and what a shooter it is. It sports a 24" stainless bull barrel from Shilen, 2 stage trigger and all on an A...

Re: Problems with Ruger 77
This a follow up on the Ruger 77 problem. The rifle was returned to Ruger (again-same problem) but this time they took it out and actually shot it. Guess what? They couldn't get the bolt to open either. They have offered to replace the rifle but the transaction has to go thru an FFL dealer with all ...

Re: Problems with Ruger 77
Thanks for getting back to me on the stuck bolt issue. I suspected the same, either high pressure or maybe head spacing problems. I'm not sure of the ammo he was using because it wasn't in the factory box but a plastic 100 round box. He has reloaded for the gun but hesitates to try it because of war...

Problems with Ruger 77
This isn't my gun nor is it a .204 but please bear with me. I'm describing the problem with the gun which is a 17 Hornet for a friend who doesn't do much stuff on the computer. He purchased the rifle new last year as a squirrel gun. The first time out shooting it with factory loads, he experienced d...

Re: To All Users
Thanks for all the work you're doing to clear the site up. I was wondering why I was getting topic reply notifications lately and there wasn't anything new when I opened it. Randy.

Midway has it for 55 grain and 77 grain. Boondocks in Eagle River might be able to get it for you. I use to live within short walking distance before there were any stoplights in town. Randy.

Re: How Is Everybody's Season ?
I agree 100%! I have to switch to lead-free bullets in a couple of years because of lead toxin found in some southern Ca. Condors over 300 miles away.

Re: Factory Hornady 204 ammo velocity
Just to throw in my 2 cents, I shot a couple of factory Hornady 32 gr. V-Max which are listed on the box at 4225 fps at the muzzle and recorded 3867 fps however, the chrono was about 8 feet from the muzzle. My barrel is 22". Could be my chronograph but I have no way verifying it's accuracy. I'v...

Re: How Is Everybody's Season ?
Sorry to hear about your injury and hope the recovery is quick. Although I haven't put anything furry in the cross hairs yet, I've got a squirrel trip planned for the end of this month way up in N. Ca. It'll be a new area as the ranch I normally shoot at is putting out poison for the rats. I just re...

Re: Factory Hornady 204 ammo velocity
I've been working up loads for my 204 for about 4 weeks now and have been using a Prochrono to check velocities. As you are doing, I'm looking for accuracy first and will worry about velocities later. Following the charts from the powder mfg I'm getting anywhere from 2-300 fps difference than posted...

Re: Stuck bolt in AR15
I appreciate everyone's input on this subject and wanted to give a quick followup on the stuck bolt topic. I tried resizing the loaded ammo by removing the decapping pin from a small base die but found I was deforming about 50% of the shells at the case neck. Just not enough space in the die for the...

Re: Load Development
Just wondering where you shoot? I was trying out a bunch of different loads earlier this week at the pits by the airport. It would be nice to have another set of eyes from someone familiar with the 204. Randy. Sorry for hacking this thread!
Re: RCBS RASS
Good luck at the roundup! I'm going up there mid April but will be going in blind as I've never been there. My favorite ranch to shoot up there is going to be putting out poisoned cabbage again this year because they were so successful with it last year. Looks like we'll have to find a new location....
Re: RCBS RASS
Sorry for showing my ignorance but what's RASS? I'm in the cabinet/wood industry and RAS is a common acronym for a radial arm saw. I have a bunch of RCBS stuff. Randy-Durham area
