Re: 2018 Going Postal 5 Shot Challenge

On the first one, the borders/corners don't line up but I'm hoping the border doesn't come into play when I shoot the target. They both printed out fine but the second on has a more definitive border. R!

Re: Early Season Fun in the Rat Patch

I'll try to take more pics on the next shoot where I hope to unveil my .20VT that should be ready to assemble this week. I get the rem 700 SA out of gun jail this afternoon and the Boyd stock should arrive today or tomorrow. I'll screw on a Criterion remage barrel with a magnum sporter profile and t...

Re: Early Season Fun in the Rat Patch

Thanks Rick. I posted some pics in the “hunting with the 204” group on this forum. It’s titled “an epic squirrel shoot”. Thanks again for the tutorial. Randy.

Re: Early Season Fun in the Rat Patch

Those are some great photos Rick! I just returned from 3 day hunt in Modoc Co. in N. Cal yesterday. That "thwomp" sound you describe is perfect and I was pleased to hear it numerous times. Sometimes you only see the head or top of their back in the alfalfa but the sound it makes when you h...

An epic day of shooting

My son, his friend and I had a great day shooting squirrels last Friday and Saturday. The sky was clear and no wind blowing and with the snow storm on Wednesday and Thursday the little buggers were out in force grazing on new alfalfa and sunning themselves on the burrows. I alternated with my AR-.20...

Nicely done! I plan to head up there on Wednesday with my 5th wheel. Hope I can shoot as well as you guys did. Randy.

Re: surprise valley squirrel roundup

My mistake-It looks like I mixed you two up. I have the same ball cap with the squirrel in crosshairs and blood splatters all over the back. I just got notice that my 700 action has been shipped to my FFL. After the 10 days in gun jail, I'll be able to start putting this 20 VT together. Hopefully wi...

Nicely done! Hope to get up there myself sometime next week. I've got the same hat you have on in the photo. Randy.

Thanks Brooks for the update. I was a puss and didn't go because of the weather but looking forward to a day at the pits to shoot with you. Randy.

Re: pulling bullets

I had to pull 500 bullets from some reloaded .223 I bought on-line only to find they wouldn't shoot in my AR without being full length sized with a small base die. I was bummed to say the least but used my RCBS bullet puller & collet with no problems. I've never used the Hornady puller so no exp...

Re: What am I missing here?

This die requires that I use an extended shell holder that goes all the way into the die body with the stroke of the handle. Right now the ram does not contact the die but I'll make that adjustment and see what happens. I'll also check for debris inside the die to eliminate that possibility. Thanks ...

What am I missing here?

Hoping for some insight and words of wisdom on a question about case overall length for a reloaded cartridge. I shoot mostly with my magazine fed AR in .204 and get some pretty nice groups (would like better) but I'm limited to COL as to what I can get to fit in the magazine. I'm using a Redding die...

Re: How much neck tension you guys running?

Well, my bullets aren't falling out with .001 neck tension so I'm calling it good! I shot today what I hope is my final test load before loading up 600 or so rounds for this year's squirrel shooting. I settled on 29.5 gr. of CFE223, 32 gr. varmageddon's, 7.5 primers all seated for 2.250 overall leng...
