Re: 1-10 Twist for 55gr Berger?

I hadn't noticed that they list the optimal twist rate on the box. I checked a box of 35 grain bullets I have on hand and there it was-1:14". Learned something new today!

Re: Help with 722 trigger assy.

Thanks Rick. The 722 trigger is close but has a couple of minor differences from the 700. I'd really appreciate it if you could send me the exploded view of a 722 trigger assy. I searched all over the net for one but came up empty. I have a new Remage style barrel on order for this rifle and will ev...

Help with 722 trigger assy.

I need some help on a Remington 722 trigger group. I was cleaning this .257 Roberts in preparation for an upcoming hog hunt and removed the trigger group. The spring that I assume is the sear spring fell out before I noted where it was in the assembly and I can't see where or how it goes in. I did a...

Re: posting photos

That's some pretty darn good shooting! I can't even see a target at 500 yards which is the max at the local outdoor range.

Re: Squeek and Rock Chuck hunt

Sounds like a sweet set-up! I'm headed to Eagle Lake today and bringing the small arsenal with me in case the alfalfa has been cut where I usually go. Also bringing some reloading equip. so I can work up some more loads for the VT. I have something for varmint shooter and will try to make contact wh...

Re: Squeek and Rock Chuck hunt

Looks like it was a great day. I'm hoping to make it up that direction this weekend to get away from the valley heat. I'm still working on loads for the VT but having fun shooting it. Frustrating sometimes when you think you've got it all dialed in, something comes up and you're back to square one. ...

Re: Another midseason shoot in Lassen Co.

Looks like it was a good shoot. I hope to get up there sometime next week for a couple of days and hoping they've had a chance to bale some of the fields. R!

First hunt with the 20VT

.20 VT on table.jpg .20 VT and squirrel.jpg 10-22 and squirrel.jpg I finally got my VT put together in time for a squirrel shoot up in NE Ca. I had planned to build it over the course of the summer but once I started I couldn't stop. I did a quick sight in between rain storms on Saturday but it was...

Re: Question Re: AR platform

The .204 barrel I used on my AR came from Shilen and included a serial # matched bolt. Maybe your gunsmith (Mike) can provide a bolt to fit the 224 Valkyrie. I took the .223/5.56 bolt out of the carrier and installed the .204 bolt in it's place with out any problems. Should work for the 6.8 as well....

Re: Learning to Fly - With a Rifle

I know the alfalfa will be too tall to see through but there's a lot of dirt levee roads on this one ranch and we're hoping to set up shoot around those. Next Saturday is also the opening weekend for trout at Eagle Lake where I'll be staying so I'll be up there anyway. Might as well see if there's s...

Re: Learning to Fly - With a Rifle

Nicely done. Glad you took the time for some photos. I'm planning to join my son and his friends early next week for 4 days in the hay fields in NE calif. but suspect the alfalfa is going to be too tall to shoot and too short to mow. They're hoping I'll go up (4 hour drive) a day or so early to give...

Sounds like it was a weekend of shooting. We need to meet for a morning of shooting at the range. I'll call later this week. Randy.
