Re: Is there something wrong?
And I'll be the second to say it is the ammo. I also fired some of the 32 gr. Fiocchi in a couple of my 204 Ruger rifles. Before I fired them, I checked the distance from the datum on the shoulder to the case head, and found them to be seriously short. Like 10 to 15 thousandths. You know when you fi...

Re: Issues with the Winchester 204 brass from Cabelas
I initially called the contact number for customer service and left a message. Got a call back within an hour. I found email the best way to contact Kristin Tate using kltate@olin.com

Issues with the Winchester 204 brass from Cabelas
I recently got some of the 204 Ruger brass that Cabelas had in stock. As I was prepping the brass, I noticed about 20% of the shoulders weren't properly formed. This caused the datum length to be short by about ten to fifteen thousands. I loaded and fired some and this still didn't properly form the...

Re: .230 No turn chamber Lee Collet
Will the Lee Collet Die work as well or do I just need to go with a Redding Neck Sizer and correct bushing? The neck OD of your loaded rounds will be a function of 2 things. The starting neck OD and the neck wall thickness. The only thing you might gain with the Redding bushing die is a smaller nec...

Re: Decapping die?
I use my Lyman for everything above .20 caliber. The decapping pin is too large for the .20's so I use a Lee decapping die on those.

Re: ANOTHER 204 Die Question
Will these different brands of dies being used on the same brass but at different times cause me problems Doesn't for me. I either go with the Redding Body die followed by the Lee Collet die, or hone the die neck on a FL sizer die to the diameter I want. My goal is to minimize the case neck runout ...

Re: Seating Depth verus Velocity/Pressure
will the velocity change as the seating depth is moved out? Yes, but depending upon how far off the lands, it can change if the pressure increases or decreases. With handguns it is simple, seat the bullet deeper in the case and the pressure/velocity increases. With rifle it is both case volume and ...

Re: Redding body die
I use Redding body dies for most of the rifle calibers I load for. When I use the body die, I use a Lee collet die to size the neck. You don't mention how you are going to do your neck sizing. I keep a record of my rifle datums for each rifle. I keep track of: length after firing, length I can feel ...

Re: 204 DIE CHOICE & NECK SIZING QUESTIONS
My question before I make a purchase is what dies do you prefer for neck sizing My experience is that you get the best accuracy from full length sizing. My practice is to use a Redding body die and set the shoulder back 0.001 -0.002", then use a Lee collet die to size the neck. I get better ne...
