Re: Recovered 40gr. VMAX

We were walking back to the truck from a stand and saw a dark spot in a corn row, right as i said "hey is that a...", she got up and looked at us. My partner had his rifle up on the sticks by then, she took a few strides and he dumped her, head over tea kettle, she got up spun twice, sprin...

Recovered 40gr. VMAX

I thought I would take the time to post a couple pictures of a 40gr. vmax that I recovered from a coyote that we shot this weekend. My buddy connected on a coyote at 430 yards; bullet entered, skidded around the heart/lung area, glanced off the opposite ribs, and came to rest 4" above the origi...

Re: Looking for a HOTTER 20 Cal 20-250 Perhaps?

I've been eyeballing the 5mm/35 SMc, though I haven't been able to find any information on bullets heavier than 39/40 grainers, I believe it could push 50's to 3700+ fairly easily.

Re: foxpro spitfire

I bought one with my Cabela's Bucks that i recieved for christmas. I ordered online and as they were on back order I didn't recieve it until January 23. I had heard that the earlier models had a few bugs, which is to be expected when a product first hits the market. I recieved version 4 (version is ...

Re: Reloading for 0 deg. F to 100 deg. F

Just to be safe i've been doing all of my brass prep (1100+ pieces) this winter and I am waiting for at least a 60' weekend to do load testing. As a begining reloader powder-tempature sensitivity has me a bit nervous; I would hate to find a load (close to max) that shoots great and end up with a pot...

Re: no sparks!

Kenbrofox: you may tell him to pick up a copy of the machinist handbook; inside it outlines a few different methods for heat treating, case hardening, and a bit more metalurgy that may help his cause. Case hardening is actually the adding of carbon to steel, generally done with a heating the metal ...

Re: Bushnell 3200 Elite

I have a 10x bushy on a .308 and think that it is a great little scope for the money; super clear, well defined reticle, holds zero and adjusts accordingly. The turrets are easily adjusted via a single set screw. The bad things that I can say about them is they don't have a zero stop so you need to ...

My final project MTT

For our final project phase of Machine Tool Technology we were required to finish 150 hours of a part designed, programmed, and machined by ourselves. I decided to build a chassis and retrofit a set of AICS skins for a short action savage. I found a good deal on a set of tan skins, designed and prog...
