Re: Would you write a .204Ruger.com Article?

I would like to be able to help. However, I don't feel I have anything related to write about. The knowledge that exists here is beyond mine.

Re: Lee dies...which set?

I am interested in this topic too. Im pretty new to loading also so I wont attempt to answer your questions. However, I think it will be helpful to know your purpose of the rifle. Food for thought. According to the Lee book: Hunting ammo is better off full length sized. Bench shooting is better off ...

Re: Tell us about yourself...

I was so excited to get started that I missed this thread. Better late than never. My name is Rick. I was born and raised in a small town in western NY. Currently I'm residing in Buffalo NY. I enjoy hunting of all types but spend most of my time chasing fox and coyote. My passion for calling has spi...

Re: Powder charge

That makes sense. I read the Lee manual a few times before I even attempted loading. That was several years ago. I will go back and read again.

Good tips twenty. Thank you. The static is pretty bad. Those little flakes are clinging to everything.

Re: Powder charge

Thank you, Rick. Well written up answer. You covered everything for me. I figured everything was okay. my loading experience is still pretty minimal (obviously). Around 200 rounds over 2 years. Most were for the .243.

Re: Cleaning brass

The wife stopped at cabelas, yesterday, on her way home from errands. She bought me the tumbler kit. Works nice. Runs pretty quiet. After 2 hours I still have some residue on the neck. Any recommends for getting rid of that?

Powder charge

I couldn't wait for summer. I started loading for the .204 last night. (My hunting parter is sick so instead of hunting I mandrels bullets). I haven't loaded anything in about a year. I load for .243 and 30-06 but have never loaded 204. I loaded up 3 different powders under some 35 Berbers. BLC-2, V...

Re: Cleaning brass

Thanks Rick! Sounds similar to what I've been seeing. In the past I've just wipes them down with brasso. Your method sounds like it will be much less time consuming. I'm eyeballing the cabelas package. Seems like a good deal. Maybe I should stop being cheap. I just don't shoot enough to justify spen...

Re: not sure where to start

Thank you shady and everyone for the info. I will try some other loads when I can get some made up. I found some 32 nosler Varmegeddon factory loads at a local gun shop. Headed to the range before hunting tonight. They grouped much better than the 32 v max. I am a little concerned with this round pe...

Re: not sure where to start

Some areas in NY are limited to a shotgun during deer season. In those areas a centerfire rifle was prohibited in any open deer season. Last year they amended the hunting regulations to allow for centerfire under .22 cal in those areas during deer season. They should have allowed .22 cal and under b...
