Re: New Cooper
Congrats on your Cooper......you'll love it! Just got back from my Montana trip, and the Phoenix turned over 1000 rounds, and my Varminter just over 2000 rounds (not all on this trip). I'm still amazed at how well they shoot. You're in for a lot of fun. PM me when you get ready to reload.......I may...

That's one fine looking rifle, almost too pretty to shoot! Keep us posted as to how it performs on paper.....and pd's.

Re: matchking 4 hunting?
My Remington LTR really likes the match bullets, but for hunting, I load the Sierra 165 gr Gameking. It is almost as accurate, and does a real number on deer. My buddy with the Sheriffs Dept (sniper) has killed a lot of deer with the matchkings (Federal match ammo), so I know they will work. I just ...

After 1400+ rounds......
my Cooper is still shooting pretty decent groups. Getting ready for my upcoming pd trip, I've been loading and shooting quite a bit. This morning I shot a 3 shot group of .351 at 200 yds. Last week, I shot a group of 2.499 at 500 yds. Hopefully, it will perform just as good when I make it to Montana.

Re: annealing .204 brass
Rick, are you using the water in the pan, and tip over method? And do you size before annealing, or the reverse? Hate to show my ignorance! Varget, hope you don't mind me asking more questions to your thread.......I'm in the dark. I need all the help I can get!

Re: annealing .204 brass
Rick, are you using one of the annealing machines, or by hand? I've been reading about some of the units available, but the price has me holding back. I hate to admit it, but as much as I have reloaded, I've never annealed a case. My .204 brass hasn't been shot but a couple of times, but I would lik...

Need input on cleaning rod.......
since I ruined my Pro-Shot rod this morning. I have a 38 1/2", 17-20 cal, one piece stainless rod, that I've had for a few years. I've never really been happy with this rod, the 20 cal jags are too big, and don't fit well. Also, can't seem to find just the right size patch to use with these jag...

Rick, new rifle report......?
Rick, have you had enough time behind your new Cooper rifle to give us a report? If so, how does the accuracy compare with your other rifles? Have you worked up a "Skippy" .223 load that compares with your .204 rounds? Your Cooper looked "right at home" sitting on the rest, ready...

Re: Tikka T3 Varmint Range report
Nice gun and nice shooting. I have two Tikka Varmints, but in .223 and .22-250. I recently put a 12 oz Jard trigger in the .223, and it is really made a big difference. You may want to look into the Jard trigger for your rifle.

Re: Your Favorite Crow Load
In early season, I use either a 3 1/4, 1 1/8 oz load of 6, 71/2, or maybe 8's. As season wears on and they get shot more, I load a 3 3/4, 1 1/4oz load of 6 or 7 1/2's. With my modified Comp-n-choke, I can kill them out past 50 yds (clarify that, the gun can, sometimes the shooter can't). I like shoo...

Great week in the turkey woods......
Monday morning started slow hearing the first gobble at 8:15 a.m. I moved toward the bird, not knowing he was a "travelling" bird. Every time I got close enough to set up and call, he had moved 100-150 yds further. We played our game of tag for several hours covering at least a mile. Final...
