Re: Pressure problems......?
Glen, I did pull the bullets and checked the powder........right on the money. I made a call to Sierra, their tech said it was using mixed brass, and the charge was too much, even though it wasn't max. He said NOT to mix brass. Guess I have been lucky, I've done that for years, especially loading fo...

Pressure problems......?
Installed a new Leupold scope on my Tikka varmint .223 yesterday, and had some "issues" while shooting. My first round, shooting a 53 gr bullet, loaded with Benchmark powder (full 1/2 gr. off max), the primer was almost pierced and smoke coming from the chamber. The brass wasn't hard to ej...

Thanks acloco, got the last set!
I think Natchez should re-consider their selling policy.

Need Hornady dies.....
in .204. I talked with a tech at Hornady a couple of weeks ago about my Cooper with an "extremely" tight chamber. He suggested trying a set of their dies before having custom dies made. Here's the problem........I can't find any! My local dealers can't find any, none at Sinclair, called Ho...

Re: Wilson Case Trimmer operation question
Just to add to Lee's answer. When you insert your case into the holder, you tap the base of the case, and the friction keeps the case in position. When you set your case holder (and case) into the trimmer, just swing the arm over the holder, and again, friction holds everything in place. You can the...

Cooper would be my suggestion too. They shoot as good as they look.

Best way to clean trigger........?
Trigger on my pd gun feels a little "stronger" after returning from my last trip. The trigger was breaking about 1 lb, but feels more now. I took the bbl action out of the stock, and used some compressed air on the trigger assembly. I'm sure there was some left over Montana dust lying arou...

Re: Sierra Bullet Problem
On a much smaller experiment, I noticed your same results. I measured "several", 39 gr Blitzkings for ogive length. The bullets were selected at random, and the measurements were all over the board. I randomly selected the same number of 40 gr V-max bullets, and the ogive measurements were...

Re: Back from the 09 Rat Rodeo - Part II (Pics)
Rick, Just got in on the tail end of this conversation.......probably a good thing. Keep those pics and write-ups coming. I appreciate your expertise and opinions on guns, loads, and varmint hunting. Not once have you failed to give me an answer to any questions I've asked you. Your "mentoring&...

Re: .204 case holder question
bow shot, on my Wilson case holder this is what's listed:
204 Ruger
20 Tactical
This is the only designation, other than their logo that's on the case holder.
Hope this helps.

Re: Summertime coyote 09'
Good going! What time of the morning did you call him in? With the cooler days we've had, I've had "intentions" of getting the Foxpro out, but "intentions" haven't been productive. I've got to get out and check some of my hunting spots and see if any hay has been cut, or the cond...

Re: Recent Montana trip....
Acloco, we were in the "area" of Miles City. We're always riding with the guide, so I don't have a good grasp on roads or distances. Targets were off from the last few years, but still had plenty to shoot. I've seen a number of antelope go under a fence, but never seen one jump over. I'd r...

Recent Montana trip....
produced some fine shooting and pretty good weather (not considering wind). The pd population may have been down a bit, but we still found enough targets to keep us busy. http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/nr123_photos/pdtrip09097.jpg Course we had the before........ http://i297.photobucket.co...

I've had mine in the safe for about 3 years, and it is still working. Several power outages and surges, but no problems.
