Re: Future of the forum

Gentlemen, first & foremost I would like to thank Tarrin & his dad for starting this forum! Without this site I doubt that I would be as passionate about shooting this awesome caliber & pursuing "Skippy" and his friends. Unfortunately the rising costs of the shooting sports, tr...

Re: New Forum Title?

I'm also to "blame" for the lack of traffic on the site. I haven't been on the site much lately due to many things happening in my life. Being retired, many people are asking for help because I now have "all that time on my hands". My other big excuse is the lack of reloading com...

Re: 2022 Ghost Bullseye 5 Shot Challenge WINNERS CIRCLE

Sounds bad enough, in what occured. Sure could have been worse. Have a friend that did simular, but he lost a left hand finger ( first one from the thumb) all the way up to the first joint/knuckle. He thought he was lucky. In some ways both of you and he were. Those saws can sure get you first, wit...

Re: 2022 Ghost Bullseye 5 Shot Challenge WINNERS CIRCLE

Did I miss something in another post ? What did you do to your left hand and thumb ? If I dare ask. Bill, On 18 May I was doing some woodworking with my table saw. I was cutting some thin Teflon after some thicker red oak. I neglected to lower the saw blade & while I was cutting the Teflon, usi...

Re: 2022 Ghost Bullseye 5 Shot Challenge WINNERS CIRCLE

Congratulations to Bill K, Blue51 & Irishgun! Those are some impressive groups at a virtually blank target. It's my hope that I don't pull off any mishaps prior to any future competitions. I've begun shooting trap & archery again with the encouragement of my surgeon. Once I get my head right...

Re: Member Registration starts TODAY

Hello Skipper, I've been "out of action" for a while due to a catastrophic injury to my left thumb and index finger, fortunately I shoot right handed. Unfortunately I've missed the deadline for having a target sent to me. If it's at all possible, could you send me a target? If not I unders...

Re: 2022 Five Shot Challenge Input Needed

Skipper, I like your proposed target! It's much more realistic for those of us that are "flight instructors" for the little varmints we seek. The ghosted image will make the contest far more interesting. Thanks for your continued effort on this project!

Re: Mans best friend

My best grouse hunting buddy Blazer. He used to give me that look after I missed a grouse he flushed. This picture is from 10 years ago, he's coming up on 14 years old.

Re: 2022 Five Shot Challenge Input Needed

I am definitely up for a five shot challenge this year! There will NOT be any procrastination on my part and God willing, no more health issues! I too like the 100 yard shoot, allowing a larger number of people to participate. As soon as the temperatures up here in the frozen north stabilize above f...

Re: Anyone use the Nosler 34 Grain HP bullet?

I've used the 34 GR Nosler "Dogtown" versions shot from my Savage model 12 FV, loaded over CFE 223. These little gems are devastating in the prairie dog towns of South Dakota at 350 + yards. They're not quite as accurate as the Hornaday 32 GR V-MAX bullets but they do deal with the wind a ...

Re: Summer of 2021 Challenge Winners Circle

Skipper, it's becoming more & more difficult to depend on the USPS! Some of us just suffer from chronic procrastination. Hopefully those of us who procrastinated learned a valuable lesson.

Re: Summer of 2021 Challenge Winners Circle

Congratulations to Bill K, that's some mighty fine shooting! Second & third place is also darn good marksmanship. My "crud" symptoms are slowly subsiding and hoping not to be a "long hauler". That being said, if Skipper is up to doing another challenge, I'm in...God willing! ...

Re: The Challenge Begins!

I'm in the same boat as Skipper. COVID-19 has struck around here! I'm hoping I can still get to the range in time to shoot my target and get in returned to Skipper by 1 October. I procrastinated way too long and now I'm not sure I can make it down to the 100 yard target line and back to the bench wi...

Received my target on 10 July, now just have to wait until the winds & water on the range to subside. Can't wait!
