Re: Load Development
jpx, thank you for the information. I've got a strange tale to tell you. One of my RRA's is a 24" varmint with a 1-12 twist. It was the only gun I had that day & had been sighting & dialing in a new scope with factory Federal 55 grain ballistic tips, not at all happy with the 100 yard ...

Load Development
Hello & happy holidays to everyone at .204. This has probably been asked several times and I searched old posts without finding the information I was looking for. I'm looking to develop loads in my 20 & 22 caliber new guns and assuming you have the correct bullet for your twist rate, where ...

Re: Starting load questions?
Thanks buddy. That's about where I'm at, the upper 75%. Jim D Texas JD. I start in the midpoint area, personally, and have never ran into a issue working up from there. Thinking along the same lines as you of wasting powder and bullets, when most always my final load is in the 3/4 to max area. Bill...

1990, REAL, REAL NICE! Unless you're going to be a dedicated long range shooter, don't let velocity cloud your mind & change too much. I've done it before & wasn't very happy with the end results. Just my 2 pennies worth. Jim D :hail: I'd like to think so! Now I need to chronograph them to ...

Starting load questions?
Hello. I've got some questions I'd like to ask about from some of the experienced reloaders. The questions will be pertaining to SMALL CALIBER, .204 & .224, ONLY & IN QUALITY MODERN FIREARMS ONLY. Using current reloading manuals, what is the highest starting point under max you feel comfort...

Re: Bullet seating depth
I got off subject but in my guns like this, I start with book measurement (COL) then play with .010 under that to .020 over. If it's a long bullet maybe .030 over. I nearly always find a sub 1/2" load like this. That's just how I do it & not saying it's the way you are supposed to do it. G...

Re: Bullet seating depth
Jim W, are these guns with long measurements where the bullet falls out the case known as long throats or freebore? What is the correct terminology? All my Remington's except my 5R .223 Milspec are like this. I think most of the factory rifles made today are like this, correct? Thanks,

Re: Your Best/Favorite Deer Hunting Rifles?
varmint-master,+++1 on that 65 grain Sierra bullet. I shoot that in my 1-9 twist Rem. mil-spec & it's awesome. You don't here much about them but the 60 & 64 grain Berger is baaaad medicine for deer size animals also. What AR did you get? Jim D :hail: I have took my share of deer with a 22 ...

Hi. I know this is an old post but I'd still like to buy some .204 30 grain Berger bullets, anywhere from 100 to 500. My email is in the original post. Thanks,

Re: Savage LRPV not up to expectations
+1 To MZ5, send it back & don't waste your time. But, my buddy has sent his 270 back 3 times & it still won't shoot. WID3er, +1, get rid of it. I'll open up a can of s*** here but I've never had a Savage out shoot a Remy with good hand loads. If you can afford it, climb the ladder to a Kimb...
