Re: Lee dies...which set?
oldfox, I've got the collet dies for 204, 222, 223, 22-250, & 220 swift & really like them, a lot. They turn out great reloads. I ordered from Lee a couple .001 undersize mandrels if I want more neck tension, 5.00 each. I use Forster full length sizing dies when needed and a Forster bench re...

Re: Wilson barrel quality?
On my ar builds I use White Oak Armament barrels which uses Wilson match blanks and all will shoot sub 1/2 moa in .223 & .204. Jim D

Re: 6BR build
Where is a good source to learn about building a Savage rifle? I've built several high end AR's but would love to build me a bolt gun. Also, where do you buy the Savage actions? Thanks,

Nosler Varmageddon Powder
I've got a quick question. Does anyone happen to know what powder Nosler uses in the 32 gr. tipped 204 Varmageddon loads? My 700 shoots them excellent but I have the components to load myself. I pulled a couple bullets and the powder is ball @ 28 grs, kind of looks like x-terminator. Thanks for any ...

Berger load manual question
I've got a question I hope someone will answer for me regarding the Berger loading manual. I use the Lee book when reloading with Hodgdon powders because it's the same as Hodgdon's data. I've noticed some of the starting loads for H powder in the Lee book are almost the max load in the Berger manual...

Re: 20" barrel for 204
Forgot to mention, unless you just want to build your own upper, you can buy a 204 ruger varmint upper complete from White Oak. Their online catalogue list 204 uppers 20, 24, or 26 inch for 765.00-775.00. JD

Re: 20" barrel for 204
1835BUGGY, I have a 24" 204 Shilen & also a 24" White Oak Armament. If I were going to buy another it would be a WOA. Their 204 twist is 1-10 and you can get it in several barrel lengths ready to drop in an AR. I also have 2 WOA 223 barrels on AR's & they are awesome. I ordered a b...

Re: Help with varmint upper build
SURFIRE, your probably correct. I neck size only pushing the shoulder back .002-.003 for my bolt guns but my AR's always get a full length resize with Forster FL sizing die. By the way this JD (1952). Have a nice safe day. JD

Re: New Remington 700 SPS HB
BiaRem700SPS204, I made it to the range today after cleaning this new gun & finished the cleaning with lock-ease in the barrel. After 2 fowling rounds I started with 32 gr. Nosler varmageddon. 1st 3 shots = .444 group. 2nd group 5 shots = .735 group. Very pleased. Cleaned barrel then 2 fowlers &...

Re: Help with varmint upper build
Hi surefire, your right about not getting a lot of help on the AR forum. I had a similar experience as you with a custom .223 built just like my 204 above. WOA chambers their own barrels with short throats for optimum performance with AR magazine length ammo. Well, I loaded some 52 grain bullets tha...

Re: New Remington 700 SPS HB
Bought one just like it. I put it in a B&C M40 stock & had it cerakoted. I'm going to the range today to shoot it for the first time. I'll be using factory ammo today 32 & 40. I'll post tonight or pm you. I did some measuring on mine & I can forget about loading to the lands, the fre...

Re: Fiocchi Brass
Fox, I hope someone answers you. I just bought 800 .223 40 gr Fiocchi & want to buy some 40 gr 204's but would like to know how they shoot first. The 223's shoot real good out of my 20" 1-12 twist custom AR, 5 shots 1 moa. JD

Re: Help with varmint upper build
Thanks surefire, I thought the same thing but was uncertain. I went and looked at your build, very nice! My 1st build is much like it with Black Rain upper & lower & same trigger & barrel but have not had time lately for shooting. Have you found any good loads for it yet? Thanks and have...
