Scope Leveling
Hello guys. How about some opinions, ideas, tricks, or information about leveling a scope with the bore of the rifle. I've tried several different gadgets loaned to me for leveling but wasn't very impressed. Did just as well "eyeballing". I like shooting 100/200 yards but need to be able t...

Re: Red Fox with 32gr Vmax
Hello, and welcome. Just make yourself at home. 35 Bergers, 1st class. If I where going to use 32's for larger than PD's it would be the Nosler Combined Technology ballistic tips. Just my two cents worth.

Welcome 45-70. Yes, this is a great site with a lot of helpful people and without a bunch of bickering & arguing. I'm sure you will contribute to it just fine. I sent you a couple e-mails.

Jim, wow!, that's a lot of great information. Thank you so very much. That will keep me busy for awhile because I have all powders & primers listed except my cases are Norma. Thanks again,

Re: Ruger 204 predator series
Hi Jim, welcome. My Rem 700 204 with 1-12 twist really likes the Nosler 32 grain Varmaggedon factory loads. It does not like the Hornady 40 grain factory loads but you will just have to shoot them to know. I found out real quick that different 204's like different loads. Welcome again, you will find...

Re: FS: 204 Ruger ammunition
Hi Jim. I sure wished mine liked the 39's. Tried them with RL 10X and 8208 without much success. I haven't tried your favorite yet, RL 15, but just might. Do you have a good starting point for me with primers & powder weight. It's a 26" heavy 1-12 twist barrel, super long throat, Jewell tri...

Re: FS: 204 Ruger ammunition
That's great. What state are you going to? I'm 63 and a little handi-capped and got to go on my first PD shoot last year in north Texas, a long trip from home, 9 1/2 hours. I'm supposed to go back this August if I can. Never had so much shooting fun. I don't know what's considered a lot but I went t...

Re: 204 ruger and vertical stringing
Hello snipersam. I don't know that I'm as qualified as some of the other shooters on this forum but I'll throw out my 2 cents worth. Sometimes stock torque can eliminate or help with vertical stringing. Instead of 60 in/lbs, maybe try 50 or 70. Sometimes this helps especially with stocks with beddin...

Re: FS: 204 Ruger ammunition
Hi surefire. No. I love my 204, but my Remington 700 is a finicky thing. About the only thing it will shoot to my satisfaction is the 32 grain pills. The other stuff shoots ok, about an inch or little more but I like my rifles to shoot sub 1/2 moa or they find a new home. The only load I've found th...

Re: New deer rifle
For the money, Remington 700 SPS. I've got several in smaller calibers that shot sub moa out of the box. My thoughts, If it does not shoot like you want or you get tired of it, you will have a great action for a build down the road. Jim D

Re: ladder test-visibility question
I can see the holes a two hundred with my 63 year old eyes and a 6x24x50 Sightron if I shoot above my point of aim into white paper. On another note, have you ever read about Dan Newberry's OCW load development system. I use this shooting round robin style & it's great for finding a node.
