Re: Need some suggestions please

One more thing Dan, if money & weight is not a concern, look at a Heckler & Koch P2000 SK. I trust my life with one every day. Also I totally agree with acloco, I would not carry reloads for self defense.

Re: Need some suggestions please

Hi Dan. The Smith & Wesson Shield is a hard one to beat for a woman's purse gun or for a pocket pistol. I've bought my daughter & wife one and half a dozen friends of mine have one. I've seen them go on gunbroker anywhere from 319.00 to 439.00. Two things I want to tell you, the Shield can b...

Re: Which cleaning rod?

+1 on Montana X-treme. I use them for all my small calibers. Maybe not as stiff as some but I just trim my patch where it's not as tight. Really the best rods I've ever used but like spud said a little expensive. But add what you have in your rifle, scope, base/rings, ammo, the hunt, & it doesn'...

Re: Lightweight rifle

RJ, you might want to check out some of the Howa 204's on gunbroker.com. They have some as cheap as 359.00. I don't have a 204 Howa but a friend of mine does & he gets 1/2 moa with hand loads. Just a thought for your question.

Re: 20 moa picatinny rail

in my opinion, with that cartridge at those ranges, you dont need the 20 moa ,,,,,,,,check the amount of adjustment in your scope,,, you should be fine with mounts with 0 angle built in them savagebolt, I totally agree but as I said, the only one I can find for a sako is 20 moa. I don't really want...

Thanks acloco, I don't know much about the 20 moa & can't seem to find very much personal information on one.

20 moa picatinny rail

Hello. I'm wanting a picatinny rail for my sako but the only one I can find is a 20 moa. It's a 204 Ruger and I'll mostly only be shooting 100-300 yards. Is there a down side to the 20 moa at that range? With a good scope, will I still be able to get a zero at only 100 yards? Thanks for the informat...

Been wanting to buy some 2700. What's your thought on that powder & what else do you use it in? JD

Re: Another Challenge

Hi skipper, Nice posts & pictures. I'm 63 now with ALS but wing shooting used to be my passion, especially geese & ducks before the cold wet marshes & fields got too much for me. I hunted the Anahuac & east bay area & my buddy's & I kept 5000 acres leased about a mile from th...

220 Swift Powder?

I thought I'd do a quick survey & see what powder & bullet combo your Swift likes. I know all guns are different with their own quirks but thought I'd just see what yours liked. My old Remington 700 Swift loves IMR 4064 & 55 Nosler BT's. I've got 2 more, a Remington VSSF I and a new Ruge...

TO CRIMP AR 204 AMMO OR NOT???

Hello, I just got through building my AR 204 using Seekins, Black Rain, Magpul, Geisselle, & a White Oak Armory 1-10 match barrel. It's a heavy rig I'll be using for bench rest & not loading over 5 rounds at a time. I want to shoot 35 Bergers. My question is do I need to crimp the ammo for t...

Re: 39gr Sierra BK and BL-C2 (AR15)

Hi Coues7. I'm not a gunsmith but have built several custom varmint/target heavy barrel AR's. I had a similar experience with a 204 AR I built with a 1-9 twist Shilen barrel. 1 1/2 to 3 inch groups with factory ammo. Determined to shoot the 39 gr. SBK, I tried 5 different powders, not BL-C 2. To say...

Hey Rick, good to hear from you. You've got a beautiful rifle there & it's just about what I thought that I can't go wrong with the 85 Stainless Varmint. Thanks a bunch for the information & reply. Have a great one,

Sako 85 Stainless Varmint

Hello shooters. Does anyone have any experience or know anyone with the Sako 85 stainless varmint in 204 ruger with laminated stock and set trigger. I found a place that offered me a great deal for one & I want to buy me a nice 204 but can't find a lot of reviews on it. Thought about & looke...
