Re: 40gr v max loads for a Howa?

Try W748. I use 28.5 gr of it under my 40gr V-Max's and they are 1/2 MOA. I shoot a savage model 12 fv which has a 1:9 twist which is advantageous. Also try Hornady custom 40gr V-Max's. they shoot almost just as good as my hand loads. My dad just bought a Howa, in .204. He loved the round so much ou...

Re: Well, this 12FV has me disappointed, in a way...

I have a 6-24 power and use every bit of it. I think that's one of the misconceptions about the .204. 400-500 yd prairie dog kills is well within the range of a .204. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a coyote out to 400 with the right load.

WTB/WTT 55gr. Blitz kings in 6mm

I've been shooting 58 gr VMaxs forever now, but I think that I want to see if the Blitz Kings will be more fur friendly. I have lots of reloading components to trade or I'll buy some. Thanks.

Re: WTB .40 cal bullets

If you are just looking for FMJ Sheels here has a ton of Berry's MFG 155 gr bullets. They had about 10,000 primers and about the same in bullets. If I run out I just run up to Scheels and get more.

Re: Well, this 12FV has me disappointed, in a way...

My 12fv did the same thing. The 40gr hornady v-Max's shot one-hole 5 shot groups. I did finally work up a load with 32gr Vmax's that do the same thing. 29.0 gr of W748 plain small rifle primer. Since I'm only using the rifle for prairie dogs and vermin, I'm fine with that. I even hav a nice load for...
