Re: My new Sako 85 .204 Varmit rifle
Hey mate, love the scope. I'm in melbourne as well lol. But i'm shooting a tikka t3 lite stainless with a 6-24 elite 4200 on top. Love my 204 as well, have yet to try the 39bk as they were origionally hard to get when i started and very expensive too. But i have loaded 40gr vmax at 3/4 inch, factory...

Re: Tikka T3 Stainless Lite 204 Floating Barrel
If it's not broke don't fix it... it's a T3 lite mate, shooting half inch is good and it's going to heat up after 5 or 10 rounds guaranteed cause it's a lite not a varmit. My t3 lite 204 shoots 1/3 inch at 100m consistently without having touched anything but the trigger.

Re: Flat based bullet
Any I have the same dies, same deisgn for my 308 and no issues with them ever. It's simply poor design for the 204 as the projectile is soo short and sharp that it easily falls against the wall of the die and gets jammed as you reach the plug. Either way, im 100% sure this will fix ur issue.

Re: Flat based bullet
Ok mate, you probably found out your issue already but if you haven't here is the likely cause... I had the exact same issue with mine and it was actually the cheap lee collet dies i was using. Inside the dies there is a cylinder (seating plug) that can move all around to help center the projectile ...

Re: IMR 8208
For my CZ527, 28.5 gr (8208) w/32 gr Nosler Varmageddon FBHP gave me .5" groups @ 200 yards. WW Brass and CCI-450 primer. For me, Sierra have been hard to find but Noslers are out there. Jim Same as above - 29gr of 8208 with the varmageddon shoots 1/3 inch consistently from my tikka at 100m. d...

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
Well a update on my progress, I managed to try out the varmageddon test loads. tried a bunch of different powder charges of BM8208 ADI and all performed amazingly. In the end i setteled for 29gr of 8208 simply cause there were no pressure signs and the extra bang might be handy when i get it on the ...

Re: IMR 8208
Probably too late by now but --- 8208 is made by ADI and rebranded. Go to the ADI website (google ADI powder) and there is a whole PDF document dedicated to that powder alone detailing the reloading information for the 204 from 26 to about 45 grain projectiles.

Re: 204 brass
I got quoted $46 for 50 brass for my 204 the other day and it was only federal stuff. The only 204 brass my gunstore can get at the moment. I was pretty annoyed about the excessive cost then I met a guy on a forum who lived near my deer hunting area's and doesn't reload. Just gave me 10 boxes of onc...

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
Lol yeah a mate is trying the zmax in his 223, apparently cheap in bulk packs. Probably not available in 204 around here though with the shortage around. Either war i have been doing ok with the 26gr grenades and the 40gr v-max. Both half inch in my tikka, the 40's slightly better. Got some 39gr TNT...

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
I just got the order of 200 vermageddons to try so will be test loading this week using ADI 8208. I had a tub of 40gr v max and varmit grenades, got them both loaded up as well at the moment and both shooting under half a inch... Can't complain. Also got a box of 39gr TNT Speer projectiles, don't kn...

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
Yeah saw that one on youtube a while ago, pretty crazy. I pick up the gun tomorrow so i will load some ammo tomorrow and try it out friday. Got some leftover Varm grenades and a box of v max 40's. So until i can get my hands on the 32gr these will have to do. Lets hope the 40gr shoot :) Also found a...

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
I got a nearly full box of 40gr V-max but the guy i was speaking to at the gun shop seems to think they wont stabilize in the 204 with the 1/12...Will be trying them this weekend.

Re: 32gr - V-Max vs Varmagrddon
Thanks Bill, just working out if it is worth spending the extra $7/100 on the v-max over the varmageddon
