NOT 204 Ruger, but definitely 20 caliber
Cannot help but like this thread from another forum. No, not of the 204 Ruger variety, but is definitely of the 20 caliber family. Neat picture of some 20 caliber rounds in there...of course the 204 Ruger is in the lineup. For the Ruger #X fans.....couple rifles to oggle over as well. http://www.sau...

Re: Frustrated......need help
They sent you bases for an older, non accutrigger action. These actions have a flat base in the rear and standard Savage/Stevens round base in the front.

Re: neck tension in an AR
Are you using a dry lube when neck sizing? If not, you might consider it. Redding makes a good dry lubricant (powder). In a pinch, and VERY LIGHTLY APPLIED, a touch of normal case lube will work. Don't get any inside the case though. Clean your dies at regular intervals until you get a feel for it. ...

Re: Which Leupold scope is right for me?
I use a 6-18 on a 6mm Rem AI. Plenty of power for this caliber.
You might consider a lighter weight Duramaxx stock. Stock is definitely stiff enough to handle a bipod...AND lighten up the rifle quite a bit as well.

Re: Which Leupold scope is right for me?
For your intended purpose with your rifle, go with the 6-18x40 scope.
Because you will hunt with this rifle, this scope is considerably lighter than the 6.5x20 power scopes. I use a 6-18x4- with turrets on a 6 Rem AI...works rather well...and you can carry this rifle in the field as well.

Watching my shooting partner harvest a long range doe in the late season hunt. 338 RUM, 300 gr SMK at 3100 fps, Savage Target action, Rock stainless barrel, and Nightforce optics....all chambered, threaded, braked, and assembled by me. This was the second shot in the field with this rifle. 938 yards...

Standard reloading rules apply for an "unknown to reloading manual" bullet.....10% less than minimum and work your way up.

Re: Anyone with an opinion of the Rem 770 or Savage Edge
You should be able to pick up a Stevens in the 279 to 299 range.
Yes...that scope will be a welcome addition.

The 770's are junk. Buy a Stevens for a cheap first rifle that he can actually build on.

Re: Looking for some input please.
I would NOT go with any wildcat. Wise person advised me when deciding a caliber that might be used anywhere....."can you walk into any store and buy ammo for it?" THAT is the question you need to answer. I LOVE all of my 6.5x55's and 6.5x55 AI. 260 is gaining in popularity. Would not hesit...

Re: IMR 8208 initial impressions
Loaded ten rounds, 0.1 gr difference per round, for one of my 223 AI's. Will hopefully shoot these over the chronograph in the next couple of days and report back.
Also loaded Benchmark and H4895....which seem to be THE powders for the 223 AI's.
