High Standard Sport King 22LR
Have always wanted a High Standard semi auto pistol, but never found the right deal.
Believe it or not, I was the successful bidder at an estate auction for a 1958 Sport King with 4.5" barrel.
Have always liked these pistols because of the fit to my hand and quality of the firearm.

Re: magnum primer accuracy
The Remington 6.5 is not supposed to be used in ANY high pressure centerfire cartridges. Hornet, etc, is the only low pressure centerfire cartridges the 6.5's are supposed to be used in.
For accuracy, I use Rem 7.5's or CCI 450's.

Re: RCBS comp. Seating Die marks bullets
This actually occurs with all of the seating stems. Also has to do with how thick the bullet jacket is as well. I drill seating stem out a couple drill sizes larger, allowing the seating stem to contact further down the bullet. You can also apply some lapping compound to your bullet, cordless drill,...

Rules for scopes: Fully Multi Coated Lenses (if these exact words are not stated, stay away from the scope). Both sides of both lenses are coated with multiple layers of various coatings to help you see what you are trying to sling lead-n-copper at. Eye Relief - At least 3.5"...preferrably 4&qu...

Re: USA made gun safes?
I like my Cannon 24 gun safes. They are packed! Cabela's sells the Cannon's with the Cabela name on them at just under a grand, so, go find the Cannon brand name safes. If you want more time on fireproofing, just add another layer of cement board or sheetrock on the interior. Two smaller safes are t...

Re: Looking for a Savage Barrel
Used the scope cause groups opened up. If it was shooting accurate I wouldn't be looking for a new pipe :P Ah...gotcha. IMHO, if I am replacing a factory barrel, would definitely go with an aftermarket. For a little more money, more than likely have a better quality barrel than slipping a factory b...

Does it still shoot accurately? If so, keep shooting this barrel.

Re: Looking for info
Fishy - what is your backstop made out of? Of note, railroad ties and the like,.....unfortunately, provide a great problem with shooting into them. If you have not yet, you will have a bullet come back at you. They have a soft exterior, but, generally, are super hard interior (usually oak). I know t...

Re: reloading rooms/benches
When I get back to Nebraska, I will take a picture of the reloading room now....and hopefully in a couple weeks...the AFTER photos. :) Couple of good items to be on the lookout for..... Large "Sauder" brand cabinets - used for clothes closets. Just add shelves - but screw through the sides...

Re: harrell powder measures
I use an Acculab 123 electronic scale. Accurate to 0.02 grain. Overkill? Maybe. But, now you know for sure.
For a large portion of the reloading I do, directly from the Dillon powder measurer or dump from the RCBS/Hornady/or Harrell. Really depends on the powder.
