Re: XDM 40 Cal

Forgot to pass on this tidbit of info for XD 40 caliber owners. The 180 gr bullet from Georgia Bullet company is absolutely excellent in every XD version I have shot it it. Everything from an XD compact, service, XDM, and XD M Competition model shoot these extremely inexpensive bullets rather famous...

Re: Handgun for CC

Don't overlook Bersa Ultra Thunder 40 or Ultra Thunder 45. I have a 1911 and XD Service model (40 S & W, with aftermarket trigger). I use the XD for teach CC classes. This past weekend, one of the clients had a problem with their pistol and I offered my XD. Gent asked how much when he was done s...

Re: Better powder dispenser

Some powder does not drop consistently, depends on kernel thickness and length.

My favorites are the RCBS, but WITH baffle and micrometer adjustment and the Hornady Model M with baffle and micrometer adjustment.

Re: Bought Remington small rifle 6.5 primers by accident..

Do NOT use Rem 6.5 primers in high pressure rounds (17 Rem and above). These are manufactured for low pressure rounds like 22 Hornet, etc. You WILL experience a blown primer. You WILL have metal particles exiting the vent in the side of your action. Your firing pin and bolt face will be torched by t...

Re: Lyman and Dillon Dies

I truly, truly LOVE my Dillon pistol dies. IF you have a problem, no big deal - pull the clip remove the center of the body, take care of the problem, and back in place....takes about 30 seconds max. I have Hornady, RCBS, Lee, and Lyman, but prefer the Dillon. Also prefer the Dillon or Lee for the c...

Re: Which Rifle would you pick?

Of note, you can buy two or three Savage rifles for the price of one of the others mentioned. So....buy a Savage and buy some quality optics...you won't be sorry. If you put your nose to the internet, you can find some exceptional deals on quality optics. I have purchased several Leupold fixed 16 po...

Re: Which Rifle would you pick?

I would buy a Savage or a CZ.

You would be missing out if you left the Savage off your list.

Re: Finally...pistol quest finished

Shot two cylinders of 22 Rimfire and one cylinder of 22 Magnum. Will need to find out which rimfire this cylinder prefers. 22 Magnum cylinder liked the Winchester silver box. VERY happy with the purchase. Will post some pics when I have a chance to run this pistol through the paces to get it on paper.

Finally...pistol quest finished

Since the time I was 15 years old, I have ALWAYS wanted a Ruger Single Six. Have shot several over the years which has only made my thirst stronger. Every Ruger that I have seen at a gunshow was either overpriced or overpriced/ridden hard. Low and behold, the internet to the rescue. Spied a stainles...

Waiting patiently - Ruger Hunter

Money sent, stainless Ruger Hunter with both cylinders, is supposed to be on the way to me.

Hoped to have this pistol for the weekend....but no such luck.

....patience......patience....patience.

I really hope the seller and his FFL is not stringing me along.

Re: Ruger LC9.........

Pull it apart, dowse with carb cleaner, and buy some STOS from Ponsness Warren. With a Q Tip, a wipe on every moving part will do WONDERS for this pocket pistol (or any firearm with moving parts). Don't get the carb cleaner on any plastic or painted parts. I teach concealed carry with my buddy. When...

Re: Your Best/Favorite Deer Hunting Rifles?

1947 Remington 721 in 30/06 - doubt there was a box of shells fired through this rifle before I bought it 4 years ago. 180 gr Nosler BT's over H4831 is ASTOUNDING accuracy out to 600 yards. Long action Savage that I assembled with a factory Savage stainless/fluted/braked....just dial up to a grand i...
