WTB - Reloading Presses/etc - your old, your C, your 0

I recently became an NRA certified reloading instructor and am in need of a couple more presses, case trimmers, and scales to use in class. I am NOT teaching the class to NRA specs....but more. As you are well aware, there is no better way to learn, than to actually reload. My capstone/graduation re...

Re: My first homemade AR

I am with Silverfox on this.....PICTURES! On a related side note, anybody take advantage of centerfiresystem T Day sale on billet machined A3 uppers for $49.99? I did! So, in relation to your build...."find parts"...this is actually VERY hard to do. There are NO chrome or reasonably priced...

S & W 669, Old Skool? :)

Purchased a S & W 669 model for a possible CC weapon. Aluminum frame, stainless slide, 12 round capacity in 9mm, decocker/safety, & DA/SA. Did not "paper" the pistol today, just a quick trip to the range for a function test after an entire disassembly, clean, and lube. Using 115 gr...

Re: 2012 Wolf License

You need a gray/white stuffed animal a little larger than a normal sized rabbit, 100 yards of twine, and some tent stakes with a hook or eyelet in the top. Tie the twine onto the decoy, drape over a fenceline so that it will rest on the ground, twine over the top, first tent stake on your side of th...

Re: Varmit calibers

Very nice.

Looking at your loaded rounds, the 222 AI and 22/250 AI have a ring in the brass a little ways up from the base. Have you checked the inside of the cases with a sharpened paper clip?

Re: What is wrong with these primers? Picture

I have seen similar, when the cases were being fireformed. The round goes off, but the primer is whacked by the firing pin twice - once by the initial strike and again as the shell is driven backwards as the case is formed. Another time - wrong profile on the firing pin. Another time - firing pin wa...

Re: What is wrong with these primers? Picture

Well, a couple things come to mind.

What does your firing pin protrusion measure?

Would be interested to see a picture of brass, once fired in your rifle, neck sized only, and fired again.

Re: Blind squirrel - picked up an WALNUT!

RayP - OH MY!!! Very nice indeed.

Your metal/stock combination or a blue/walnut would be my pick.

At the annual gunshow this weekend, I saw only ONE 77/22...used...priced at $550.

My quest continues............ :)

Re: Blind squirrel - picked up an WALNUT!

RayP, you have another that is on my shortlist! 77/22 is a definite rifle in my future. Just have to find one at the right price/condition. I am not against buying new, but not paying $100 extra either. Actually, been VERY lucky this year. Picked up a stainless, Ruger, Hunter single six and this 10/...

Blind squirrel - picked up an WALNUT!

At the local gun club meeting last Thursday night. One of the members (FFL/Dealer) brought a few rifles to sell. I was probably the twentieth person to pick it up and inquire about it...I picked up a stainless Ruger 10/22 with a Green Mountain heavy stainless barrel and Green Mountain synthetic stoc...
