I think part of the problem with some rifles shooting the 40's accurately and some not is that the rate of twist is either more than or less than 1/12 in that particular rifle. Sometimes the barrel maker may not get the twist exactly 1/12. That is my guess and I am sticking to it.

Re: H4198
On the burn rate chart they are right next to each other. If you didn't get to close to max you may be ok. Good luck.

Re: Which bore guide
I have a Lucas bore guide for my AR's and it is the best you can get for the money. Here is the link. I think they are $35.50.

Re: Postal Shoot Excuses
I just got back to town and I have to get my self to the range to see if I can even still shoot. I know my groups will be great. If they are not, can I use one of those excuses above?

That is the exact load I use, except I use Rem. brass. I use it in my Ruger and it shoots pretty good.
Good shooting.

Nice shooting. What rifle are you using to do that. Never mind I just saw it on the target.

I am using 27.7 grains of H 4895 behind the 39's with no problems. I think the .204 likes the max and above to be accurate. This load was worked up by the guy that sold me the Rifle (The Ruger in my sig.) and it has been very accurate. Just be careful as you work your way up. It will shoot minute of...
