Re: Frustrated with the 1-12 twist and 40gr bullets

I think part of the problem with some rifles shooting the 40's accurately and some not is that the rate of twist is either more than or less than 1/12 in that particular rifle. Sometimes the barrel maker may not get the twist exactly 1/12. That is my guess and I am sticking to it.

Re: H4198

On the burn rate chart they are right next to each other. If you didn't get to close to max you may be ok. Good luck.

Re: Which bore guide

I have a Lucas bore guide for my AR's and it is the best you can get for the money. Here is the link. I think they are $35.50.

Powdervalleyinc.com has some pretty good prices also.

Re: Postal Shoot Excuses

I just got back to town and I have to get my self to the range to see if I can even still shoot. I know my groups will be great.  If they are not, can I use one of those excuses above?

Re: More success with H4895 and 39BK

That is the exact load I use, except I use Rem. brass. I use it in my Ruger and it shoots pretty good.

Good shooting.

Nice shooting. What rifle are you using to do that. Never mind I just saw it on the target.

I think the real problem will doing that 3 times in a row. That may be hard to do. It will be fun trying. :D I made some copies of the target so I could practice. My luck, I will do good on the practice and bad on the real one. :(

Good luck.

I'll be shootin the 35 Berger's joghotrod Did you shoot any of the 50's yet. I'm getting a 1-9 twist 204 barrel for my new rig. Be sure to let us know!! I have been shooting the 50's at 600 yd targets. It does real well at that range if I shoot at the targets with the 6 in. X ring. I am not to good...

You left the 50 gr. Bergers off your poll. I may shoot the 50's in my 1/9 upper if they group better than the 39's in my 1/12 upper. I still have to see which groups the best. The 1/12 is fairly new and I may need to see what it likes.

Now you need to enter the 204 postal shoot with that black rifle. Last time I looked there was only 5 in the black rifle class. Good luck.

I am using 27.7 grains of H 4895 behind the 39's with no problems. I think the .204 likes the max and above to be accurate. This load was worked up by the guy that sold me the Rifle (The Ruger in my sig.) and it has been very accurate. Just be careful as you work your way up. It will shoot minute of...

Welcome to the 204um. I spent a few days in Taiwan when I was in the Air Force a long time ago. A very interesting place back then.
