Pictures from My Trip to Co.

Here are some pictures from my recent trip to Co. Had a great time, but I sure missed SKB being there. We are still in Co. but there are no varmints to shoot in Avon. From here we are going to Utah for a week and then head home through Wyoming and S. Dakota. I may try to find some ground squirrels in...

Re: Berger 40 Grain Match Varmint

I found out today that the 40 grain Berger has a pretty good splat factor. Picture below will verify.

Re: Forster 3 in 1 case trimmer

I use a Forster case trimmer and Forster makes a pilot in .204 for it. Would that one work for the 3 in 1? Give them a call and see.

Re: Reloading for the AR-15

I have used H4895,Varget, and recently RL10x and all have worked fine in my AR's. I use the Tubb spring and the carrier weight system with them also.

Re: Ruger rifle

My first .204 was a Ruger and it is my most accurate of the 3. I bought it used from a member here about 3 years ago. My Dtech AR's are very close to it but not better.

Re: Reloading for the AR-15

I reduce the load on my AR's a little from my bolt action, but I have shot the same load in both with no problems. Just watch for signs of high pressure if you do that.

Re: Berger 40 Grain Match Varmint

Please......let me know. Going to shelf them for the moment as the summer load has already been selected. I will let you know. I did find out today that my 9 twist AR shoots the 40's really well, even from a mag. My 12 twist looks like a shot gun group. :wall: But that is ok, because it loves 39 sb...

Re: Berger 40 Grain Match Varmint

Look for some feedback as to how well these bullets perform on vermin.....what is the "splat factor" like? Recently learned my remington loves these bullets with 10X and I need to know if thier performance warrants thier price tag. Thanks all! I just loaded up some of the 40 Bergers for m...

Re: Mid summer pds

Got a chance to go out and bust off a few hundred pds this last weekend. Me and a buddy hit the mother lode about mid afternoon on Saturday for whatever reason the place we were shooting just started squirting out pds all over. Then again on Sunday we drove up on a new spot and it kept us shooting ...

Re: Reloading tips for Model 1 AR?

I have ordered an ar in 204 from model 1 sales. I am curious if any of you guys have any suggested brass, bullets, die sets or whatever that will produce good reliable ammo that will cycle well in an AR. I am sure some of you have been doing this for years and know a lot of tricks. As for me I have...

Re: Reloader 10x, 40 grain vmax load data

I tried some 10x for the first time yesterday. I started with 24.4 and worked up to 25.2 grains behind some 40 grain Bergers. This was in my 1/9 twist Dtech AR and the best group was with the 25.2 load. I reloaded 25 more today at 25.2 and I hope the groups stay as tight as the first. If they stay t...

You can also get rid of that sound with a David Tubb recoil spring. They are about 25 bucks.

Re: My next .204...

......will be an AR-15 with 24" Shilen barrel 1-9" twist. I'd like to experiment with the heavier bullets and see how they perform in the gusty Oklahoma wind. I don't see many folks here on this forum shooting 1-9" twist barrels. I'd welcome any comments from folks that are shooting ...

Re: 3rd Annual Trip To Co.

Never mind the "where"....I have Jimmy sworn to secrecy. I can assure you the pics don't do justice to some of the carnage shown in them. Jimmy is a "go and see" kinda guy...lol. Me, not so much. He walks more in one outting than I do in a month, not bad for a guy as young as he...

Re: 3rd Annual Trip To Co.

joghotrod-- Thanks for the short report. Looks like you have had a little fun at the expense of a few prairie dogs. Keep the photos coming and let us know which rifles you list in the signature area of your posts are working bese and what bullets are doing the job for you. Are you hunting on privat...
