Ouch.

I'm just glad I'm not the dude laying in the grass in front of those other two dudes' rifle muzzles in the first picture. Even with good ear muffs on.

creeky

ahab was the one who asked about the dog catcher.

I'm the one who headed for the shower because I valued your cognitive reasoning abilities. Now I'm starting to have concerns again.

ahab and flunkedchemistry if YOU smell something fishy. . . .YOU should take a bath. ;) Thanks creeky I'm headed to the shower now. With the past judgemental skills you've shown and expressed here (both pre and post dog shot), somehow I'm just compelled to trust your call on this. :eek...

It was nearly dark. And the dog was dark brown. So you really couldn't see the dog that well to shoot. But you know you got a good hit on him but you are pretty sure you gut shot him. But it was to dark to really know what happened. And now like Ahab stated, he was causing problems so that is why yo...

Yes, I agree spell checking is a good thing. Glad you pointed that out. And I'm glad you are working on it too. That one wasn't as obvious as the last PM from me, was it? PS to Rick..... He started the whole thing with a series of nast, accusatory PM's to me over the Christmas Season. Not only was ...

flunkedchemistry In most circles a couple is generally regarded as two. Thanks, for the links. It's guess it's O.K. to post links now? And thank you for the math help skipper. Did you mean to say "I guess it's O.K. to post links now?" rather than, "It's guess it's O.K. to post links ...

Here's just a couple of informative (not speculative) links at BR Central on this subject. If you do a search, you will probably find a lot more like this as it is a frequent topic among the posters there. I'm surprised they and other posts like them had skipped by the more knowledgeable people here...

Even with a vent hole like you see on bolt action rifles, it is usually not big enough for all the gas to escape out the side of the action from a pierced primer or from a case failure. Definitely not with a case failure I would think. Some gas will rush back through the bolt races and into the shoo...

The truth is refreshing.

I had thought about posting about my uncle who hunted mountain lionss using hounds and a 22 magnum when I was growing up. But I thought I would get laughed at and told I was reading bad stories on web sites. He used the 22 magnum for years doing that and never once lost a dog. But he was killed twic...

At the risk of getting flailed from several directions, I completely agree with your post Whistlepig and what you are saying. I have hunted deer since being a teen ager in spite of what others here may think or feel about me and my experience. Like a carpenter, use the right tool for the job. The 20...
