Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

Nothing was taken personal except the comment about my "phone etiquette" needing some schooling. And once again, nothing could be further from the truth  . Once I got the special order rifle home, I cleaned it,lubed the lugs, and proceeded to walk out my back door and fire the first o...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

W13Der I've already come to that conclusion. Just ordered another T3 Tactical. Mainly because I wanted another Tac stock. It'll be getting a 24 inch Krieger barrel in .204. The final cost looks to be close to the Super Varmint. I tried calling Beretta last tuesday. Not a easy task. Thanks. Hal, Sorr...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

Sam.. I also would like a follower. I'll let you know the next time I see him. BCB. Sorry to ruffle your feathers bud. You seem to be taking it pretty hard. Just keep laughing and ignoring the facts and you'll be fine. Hmmm... Can't seem to find where anybody said "don't buy a Cooper". I d...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

YOU maybe need to buy a rifle or two that looks good and also shoots well. Then those that look "Plain Jane" and shoot well become utilitarian rifles worth about what you paid for them....JMO - BCB Can you say "Cooper"?......... :chin: That would be a good start... or a Dakota, ...

Re: 204 cooper

I have yet to see a cooper with a smooth bolt. Every time I see one a my local shop I cycle the bolt only to become extremely disappointed. With all the "talk" here pumping them up, I'm sure you expected a lot better. I know I did. My Cooper bolt is so sloppy it hangs up on the load/ejecti...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

BCB, That was just a general statement and not directed towards you. Your findings are very similar to mine. We're just looking at two different rifles. But now that you mention it, I feel the T3 Tactical stock is a big step above most plastic "utilitarian hunting" stocks. That's why I'll ...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

Thanks for the information. Although I think the stock deserves a little more credit than given. The adjustability for different shooting positions is a HUGE plus for me. Anybody do a rebarrel yet? I assume with the proper tools and equipment it should be no more difficult than a Remington. Sam, A f...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

BCB, Could the lite stock be the same as my Tac without the wide forend cap and cheek piece. If it is, where's the $1200 in goodies on the super Varmint. The stock was the one thing that worried me about forking over the cash for the T3 Tac last year. Boy was I wrong, It's one solid foundation! Also...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

Rick, I think you need a walkin stick. There's a couple of T3 lite's in 204 on gunbroker. One in stainless and one blue. $609 for the stainless. I wonder how rigid the plastic stock is on the Lite. It looks pretty wimpy. The one on my Tac is solid. Even with heavy sling pressure. That rifle alone ad...

Re: Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

Griffy. That's a Stainless varmint not a super varmint. Here's a Super Varmint http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n212/455mjd/supervarmint.jpg The price seems a little high. I got my T3 Tac with mounted Weaver V24 for $1499 back in May. I'm only about 10 miles from the border. I can just imagine what...

Where are all the Tikka's in 204 Ruger.

I recently purchased my first Tikka T3 in the .223 Tactical package. This is the smoothest, tightest rifle I own. It has NO flaws. 100% PERFECT. It doesn't care what powder charge, primer and bullet combination you feed it. You can expect low .3 five shot groups at 100 yards. I have NEVER seen this b...

Re: Looking for some input please.

I'm with Rick on the short barrel especially with a new shooter. With the bullet spending less time in the barrel, Shooter error has less effect on accuracy. Most of my hunting shots are off-hand,and for that reason alone, a short barrel (20-24 inches)would be my choice. Have you looked at the 6.5 C...

Re: AR BOLT CARRIER EXPLOSION

Looks like the bolt somehow got jammed and pressure from the gas tube ripped the top of the bolt carrier off. OUCH. Very lucky the charge handle didn't blast you in the face. Also be careful using Vihtavuori powders, Their a single base powder and lack the slippery coating. I've found it to frequent...

Re: Tikka lite stainless twist rate question.

Glen, whhen you place your order, just specify the 1 and 8 twist rate. I just picked up my first Tikka. It's a T3 Tactical with 20 inch 8 twist barrel in .223 rem. Sweet little rifle. I have NO complaints with the rifle at all. Everything is top notch from muzzle brake to adjustable butt plate. If i...
