Re: Scales not the same?

Why speculate when you can easily get the facts. RCBS makes a nice little set with anvils and rods as light as .1 grain. Scales can be tricky little critters that's for sure. My Hornady electronic scale was one of them. I now use a Acculab scale and my only complaint is it might be off by .02 grains...

Re: powder keg

I think Wrangler John is quoting the add in Cabelas. They say it will hold 50 1lb cans of powder. Not sure about the plastic bottles though.

powder keg

Has anybody seen the "Made in USA Lockable Powder Storage Container" Cabela's sells in person??. At $289 a small fire resistant gun safe might be a better option? It might be twice the cost but you'll have more than twice the room.

Re: new cases ?

Here's a thought on trimming NEW brass....Some trim NEW brass before firing and some don't. As long as they're not longer than 1.845 and the mouth is parallel to the base your good to go without trimming. Now if you know your chambers length by measuring it, custom fit the brass to your rifles measur...

Re: 34gr Dogtowns and Benchmark

Made it to the range today to give the 34gr Dogtowns a try at two and three hundred yards. At 100 the 34gr Dogtowns had the same point of impact as the 35gr Bergers with the same powder charge. Accuracy was also identicle. Not so at two and three hundred. Four inches low at two and eight low at thre...

Re: ammo and reloading components bubble?

I gave my local gun shop a HUGE list a well over a month ago. All the powder and primers are in, just waiting on some Berger bullets. Looks like I got lucky 8) . Now I just have to pay for it all. They also have lots of Rem 7 1/2 and GM205M primers in stock.

Re: Buffalo City

With the open fields I can see the flight path of landing planes out my back window. It's about 10-15 miles away as the crow flies. I know the area well. One of my favorite classic car shows is held a few hundred feet away from the crash site. Didn't know anybody on board.

Re: Need some opinions

Lenard: the advent of ceramic and advanced grades of carbide tooling, which I'm sure Hawkeye will attest to. Ahh yes, indexable carbide inserts are the life and blood of our shop. We machine 316/L and numerous nickel base high temp superalloys. I stock well over 200 different styles and grades with...

Re: Savage LRPV 204 ?

Those LRPV's are nice rifles. Just make sure you look it over good first. Start with the simple stuff like making sure the barrel is centered in the stock channel. They're a little nose heavy so don't hesitate to mount a heavy scope for better balance. The only work I did to mine was sand the stock ...

Re: as a matter of interest

Just because I got ya with a funny joke about a safe full of keyboards, you twist it around with me calling you a liar. I can see how one could think that, but I get the feeling you know quite well what the point was! Calling you a liar was not my intention nor my beliefs... I'll bet I got a little ...

bcb There was no reason to edit your post 3 times.Your statement, "Hawkeye keep guessing and speculating. It seems to keep people interested around here", Wasn't that bad. It just shows your TRUE colors which you obviously decided to hide. Unfortunately it's your arrogant style. We expect ...

Kenbro
You'll have to excuse BCB, He does all his hunting with a keyboard :eew: . I'm beginning to wonder if he even owns a rifle. Probably has keyboards lined up in his safe.

It's easy to beat somebody up on the net, I'll bet it would of been a LOT different if it was face to face. Maybe even friendly. Dang cowards  . Some people never grow up. Besides we like ya here. You give this place character. Please pass the cool aid.
