Don't forget about the 35 and 32 grain bullets. Nice kill on that rat. I hope you let the pooch have a taste.

Re: BR4's vs 205M's
looks like your test was done with a 26 inch barrel. Do you recall what primer showed the least amount of pressure?? By the looks of the BR4's in my test load, I wouldn't want to push them any faster. Now the thinner cupped Fed 205M's on the other hand were begging for more

BR4's vs 205M's
Yesterday morning it was a crisp 17degrees so I decided to head out and do some primer testing. CCI BR4's vs Fed GM205M's. I had 50 rounds of each loaded with 26.6gr Benchmark,WW brass,2.260 OAL, and of course the 35gr Berger's. The rifle used is my Savage Predator with 22 inch barrel. Here are some...

Re: Reloading for 0 deg. F to 100 deg. F
I've shot my Savage Predator rifle (22" barrel) in temps from 0-95 degrees with a load of 26.6gr Benchmark,CCI BR 4 and 35gr Berger. I had no accuracy, point of impact or pressure issues at all. Don't forget YOUR rifle might act differently!

Re: Bipods
Before you mount it up make sure the stud on your rifle sticks out far enough. If not, the bipod part that goes in the stud hole WILL scratch your nice stock!!! I think Savage puts studs in the stock with a 1/2 inch drive impact gun. If it looks like your stud isn't tall enough just go to Home Depot...

Re: Bipods
Here's a skinny guys experience. :stickman: The 6-9 was to short for field use with the thick clumpy grass we have here in the east. Now for match shooting, prone or bench, the 6-9 BR always gets the nod. The 9-13 at most "might" be a little uncomfortable on a flat hard surface, but always ...

Re: The journey is nearing an end!!!!
I'll bet a lot of the guns (Savage,Remington or what ever your favorite brand is) that won't shoot .5 MOA or better just haven't found the right load combination. I would LOVE to do some load development with pile of junk rifles that won't shoot. I'm sure some won't for obvious reasons,You know, the...

Re: Mounting an Elite 6500 to a Tikka
What is it about the caps that you don't like Joe? They're the el-cheapo Bushnell style that are found on the $35 scopes. A nice scope should come with equal quality screw-on caps,or at least sell them separately.I ended up with Butler Creek on both ends of my Bushnell's. Leupold screw-on are proba...

Re: Mounting an Elite 6500 to a Tikka
I have two of the 4.5-30X50 Mil Dot 6500's.The only complaint I have is the scope caps. Well worth the $699 I paid for each!!

Re: First Day at the Range
It looks to me like you did your homework when choosing a Rifle,Bullets and Powder. And go figure, you didn't have to tinker to get it to shoot
. Job well done! Just wait till you get a few hundred through her and them groups tighten up. I'm still kicking myself for selling my VLP.

My sticky case issues always were lube related. I ditched the One Shot and now use the good ole RCBS lube pad.

Re: Primers Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to ask this question. Why didn't some of you believe it when we were warned about a primer shortage 2 years ago?? We all saw it coming! Well, most of us did. "IF" you voted oboma, YOU made your bed, now sleep in it. Look on the bright side, oboma might evenly distribute primers as we...

Re: Case capacity??
Could the difference be that they used a full length sized case and you used a fireformed case. Your rifles chamber and how you size your cases(neck or full) will dictate your rifles case capacity. Hope this helps.

Re: Winchester necks
If you ask me ALL brass is hit or miss. My last batch of Lapua in .223 is a joke. The first batch was flawless. The 100 pieces WW .243 I just picked up locally is perfect.
