Re: A few good article for bipod shooters

The hard hold Froggy describes is the only way I can shoot accurately, from a bipod or bench  . I always have two hands on the gun ;) .

Re: R15 Bullet Scraping

It looks to me like it's hitting the bolt locking lug in the action. It's either catching it on the way in, or the ejector spring is pushing it to one side on the way out. Take the recoil spring out of the butt and work the action by hand. Without the spring tension you should be able to work it slo...

A few good articles for bipod shooters and reloaders

Like the title says, here's a few articles from a bipod master. It's some good reading. A part two link on reloading is at the bottom of page one. Got this from 6mm BR dot com. The "hard hold" is the only way I can shoot.

Re: Ultimate 243 varmint/predator rifle.

Rick No need to explain yourself. If we cant yank our friends chains then who's can we yank. Just picked up a new performance car a few months back and the deal-breaker for me was the one with the largest percentage of American and Canadian made (Mo)parts. I'm not a big fan of unions or the big thre...

Re: Optic Power Hogs

I have a Bushy 6500 and it's just as clear as my NightForce BR at 30X side by side in the field. The 6500's are one versatile scope with the 4.5-30 power range. If more power will help you, the 6500 is a good choice. Me, I love high power scopes. You can always turn the power down if issues surface ...

Re: Ultimate 243 varmint/predator rifle.

The most important part of your decision should be what AMERICAN factory or custom rifle maker gets your business. As for Cooper, I'll wait four years then decide weather I'll look at them again.

Re: Ultimate 243 varmint/predator rifle.

Here we go again  ... I'm not sure if I EVER saw an ugly rifle. Some just have more character than others..Sako 85 is a nice rifle,"but" if you don't get one with nice wood, it's just as ugly as a Savage. If your too good for a Savage, Get a Sako..Me, I want one of every make and mod...

Re: M1 CZ 527 American

The long clip in my 452 American is also a pain in my shoulder and hand. Not sure why they made the mags with such sharp corners. Looks to me like NOBODY carried one with mag installed from one end of the factory to the other. Pending on your fabrication skills ,cutting one down would be a piece of ...

Re: .223 Bullets and Twist Rates

The Berger 55gr Match (p/n 224055) is a favorite in my 1-9 twist Savage BGTV bolt gun. This is NOT the match varmint bullet p/n 224055M. 25.3 grains of H355 with a Rem 7 1/2 primer. OAL 2.270 from tip to base. This is a MAX load so work your way up. At the end of last season I tried this same load i...

Re: Bushnell vs Leupold vs Nikon

Scopes need to be compared outdoors. My gun shop just happens to be across the street from a large cemetery. Lots of long range reading to do there. It's the perfect place to test and compare scopes. Lucky for me they have hundreds of scopes in stock and trust me to go outside to compare. Very cool!!

Re: Bushnell vs Leupold vs Nikon

If $350 is the max you want to spend. I'd go with the Elite 3200 or Nikon Buckmaster to get the power you want. Both are VERY clear and reliable. The tradeoffs will be Nikon's side focus vs Bushnell's rainguard. What do you want more? Now if I had $700 to spend, I would go with a Bushnell 6500 Elite...

Re: 243 varmint loads

My 40 year old Browning/Sako .243 came with this load data. 44.8gr IMR4350, Win primer and case, 85gr Sierra SPT. This is the load my friends father used for long range Woodchucks back in the 70's.
