Re: 6.5x55 load data needed
Hi Lee, I too am doing load development for a 6.5x55 in a Tikka T3. I have not done any development with the SMK bullets, but I will give you a couple of loads that, so far, have worked very well for me. Generally, I find that IMR4350, H4831SC and RL22 seem to work very well. 1. Speer cases, Win WLR...

Re: Savage 116 barrel question
Hotshot, thanks for the reply. I have already talked to my local gunsmith. He has never worked on one before, so he wasn't sure how to disassemble/remove the muzzle brake. A little background is probably in order to clarify the issue. I bought the barrel from a guy on EBay some time ago as a new, ta...

Re: Bull Elk - Use Enough Gun!
I agree.....great discussion. I converted to a .338 Win Mag for elk 30 years ago and never looked back. I prefer to shoot the Nosler 225 gr Partition altho I have killed several elk with the 210 gr Partition. The 225 has a bit higher BC and shoots very well in my Sako .338. Besides the obvious lesso...

Speer Brass
I recently picked up some Speer 6.5x55 new brass. Just wondering if anyone knows who manufactures the brass?
Does Speer make their own brass or do they buy it from someone else with the Speer headstamp?

Re: Nikko Stirling
I too decided to try the Nikko Stirling scopes since the price points are so attractive. The first one I bought was a 4-16x44. Needless to say, I was very impressed. I bought the 4-16x44 about 5 months ago and since I have picked up two more 3-10x42. One of the 3-10's currently sits on a Howa .338 W...

Re: Forster Co-Ax press
Thanks to all you folks for your comments and suggestions. I really appreciate it ;) ! I finally got the press set up and resized my first cases last night (.243 Win). Wow! Case neck runout was almost none existent except for some cases which had more than normal variation in neck wall thickness (ch...

Forster Co-Ax press
I just bought a new Forster Co-Ax reloading press. I've never used one before but have read a lot of good things about them. For the last 40 years I have been using an RCBS Rockchucker or a Redding Big Boss press. The manual that comes with the press is very brief with a lot of marketing hype. So, f...

nzs204 I agree with madracer , next time do a brief autopsy and take a look. I've killed 3 badgers in the last month with a Howa 1500 SSHB in .204 Ruger using Nosler 34 HP and Re-10x powder. All 3 were DRT; roll over give 3 pathetic kicks and no more movement. I was very curious at this behavior si...

Just signed the petition, #1286. We need to encourage everyone we know to jump in and sign the petition. It doesn't surprise me that Ebay has crossed over to the dark side and followed their knee jerk reaction with a complete cave-in to the anti-gunners. Who knows who or what's really behind all thi...

Silverfox I buy the Nosler 34 FBHP bullets at the Nosler Pro Shop in Bend, OR. The Nosler employee who manages the Pro Shop has assured me that the Midway Dogtown 34 FBHP bullets are one and the same. And glenn asher is also correct. The .204 34 FBHP bullets are labeled as S.h.o.t.s (tm). Nosler ma...

kirbymagnum Rick is saying when you put it all back together, the bushing needs to float up and down just a little bit within the die. To adjust properly, tighten the stem down onto the bushing, then back the stem off 1/8 turn and then set your lock ring. That should allow the bushing to float up a...

Hi glenn asher Thanks for the input on the Re-7. I did buy a jug of it last week; just haven't had a chance to try it yet. The heat we're having out this way is slowing us up at the range. And the smoke from all the forest and range fires is not helping either. My FB must be kinda like your buddies,...
