Down home Squirrel shoot.

With the strange weather this year I have been able to hunt later in the season. I have invested in some new snake chaps and am walking with new confidence through the grass covered hills around here. Here is some handy work of the 17 HMR at about 175 yrds. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q264/rs...

Squirrel Shoot

The wind blew cold this year on my trip almost the whole week but the shooting was still good. I did manage to get out and get a few rock chucks all though some of the shots where hard to make with a 25 mile an hour cross wind I must of burned a hundred rounds to get three chucks at three hundred ya...

Re: First Chuck of the Season and Entered the Club

Great Job! I am going to have to get to work on a rifle. I would love to make a shot like that. I sold my .243 fo a friend and have been having fits with my heavy 204. I sent away for another stock but it won't arive in time for my squirrel trip. I am leaving in the morning to give skippy a hard tim...

Re: I got a Ruger V/T giving me problems

Yes I did use the action screws when bedding. I bedded the action in there phases front, Tang with a piller and the center section last around the box magazine. I made sure the tang was very tight and even filled the piller with epoxy. Since then I have taken the epoxy out of the piller rebedded the...

I got a Ruger V/T giving me problems

I had a Ruger V/T barrel shortend to 21" a couple of years ago. I believe it shot well when I got it back. I decided to work on it a little I change the trigger out to a rifle Basix and glass bedded the action all the way back to the tang. I pillarerd the rear tang because the laminate stock wa...

Re: Jackal in South Africa

Look like coyote. Good job! a 22-250 is a great gun for what your doing. Sorry about the problem getting rifles there. A 32gr bullet in a 20 cal would be a nice choice for the little dogs but you seem to be doing good with what you got. Thanks for sharing

Re: I'm worried: 32 gr VMax

I have been having problems with all bullets on my heavy rifle that I just changed the trigger out on I deciced it was the action bedding and have had the rifle apart numerus times to rebed the laminated thing. I have finely given up due to time constrants and ordered a new Hoque stock with the alum...
