I've found a very good accuracy load using the 88 gr bergers with 42.8 gr of H-414 and an OAL of 2.83 in my T3 lite.
Most shots at dogs have been around 250 yds. Very rarely get an exit.

Re: 11/6/10 Coyotes
Way to go Melvin. Those 39 gr BK's sure did a number on them. Sounds like you have a lot of yotes over there waiting for some lead pills.

As usual nice story and pics SF. I can't believe you have snow out there already. Temps are still above freezing out here with no snow at all.

Re: First yote off of the deck this season.
Curious what you do with it at night to keep the predators from stealing the bait when you can't zap them? Allen The "meatsickle" is very heavy which means they can't drag it away. All they can do is slowly pick away at. It takes about a good solid two weeks of steady activity b...

Re: Finally got out for some prairie poodling. *Graphic art work
Great pics!! I haven't been on this site in a long while. Hardly got any shooting in this past summer. I'd like to get in some `yote shooting this fall/winter. Is the ARFS an exclusive club? Are you accepting members? lol. The "ARFS" club is definitely not exclusive. If you would like a T...

Re: First yote off of the deck this season.
Yeah I need to get my photos to photobucket or somewhere to be able to post them. How do you create your meatsickle? I was going to mix water with scrap meat etc and freeze it in a 5 gal bucket. I thot id spray hot water around the bucket then to be able to drop out the meatsickle. Do you have any ...

WTG Gube is see snow on the ground the meat cycle isnt to far away now. Snow is disappearing fast. We have a bunch of warm weather coming through. "Highs" expected of 60 deg F. I have a butcher lined up for meat scraps so once the cold weather rolls in, I should have a "shooting gall...

First yote off of the deck this season.
Was enjoying a cup of coffee yesterday morning when I looked out the window and noticed this fella out in the slough bottom about 275 yds out. My 3 204's were begging to have their turn but they were in the midst of being cleaned, so once again the 243 T3 lite got another "turn" to put the...

Re: First yote for the 2010 season.
your leupold had the 40 mil with AO by the looks of it? how does that leupold varmint reticle line up with the ballistics of the .243? which weight of bullets do you find match the drop hashes the best? i reload also and have been using the nosler 70g bt's. and what scope magnification is the retic...

Re: First yote for the 2010 season.
gube what kind of scope is that? i just bought the same camo ss tikka as you in .243. i put on a bushnell 4200 2.5-10x40 and im not happy with it. 2.5 is way lower than id ever need to use and 10 isnt quite enough for the long shots from the truck. i built a lightweight coyte only truck gun, but wa...

No "meatsickle" yet. It has been unseasonably warm here for the last while. Just waiting for some freezing temps and then the ole meatsickle will be out in full force for some nice winter entertainment.Clint E wrote:Wait just a minute Gube . No meat sickle

First yote for the 2010 season.
Whacked this little fella as he was wandering around the front yard. Sent an 88 gr berger out of the T3 lite at about 180 yds and down for the count.

A couple of young moose for 2010
Had some success with "stick and string" this year. Here are a couple of young "meat bulls" that I called in. My buddy Ron shot the first one and I connected on the second one. http://predatorhuntcanada.ca/photos/data/500/Rons_Moose_2010.jpg http://predatorhuntcanada.ca/photos/da...

Re: Last g-squirrel pics of the year
Gube-- Thanks for the FANTASTIC action photos. They have me chomping at the bit to get back out a whack a few more prairie dogs. Are you using a tripod when you snap those photos? Yes we do use a tripod. Pretty much have to when using a "doubler" with the zoom lens otherwise the images wo...
