Re: Range Finders

Well, I decided to go with the Leica crf 1200. Should arrive in the mail on Monday. Ordered it from sirmailorder.com
I'm heading out for a bowhunting trip for elk on Tuesday. Hopefully it arrives before I leave.
Thanks for the opinions. I think I will be very happy with the CRF.

Range Finders

Looking to upgrade my range finder. I currently have an old 1996 bushnell 400. I did try a new bushnell rangefinder / bino (quest) but found it rather heavy. I have got it down to a possibilty of three. The Leica 1200 CRF (new model) or LRF (old model). Or the new busnell elite 1500 with arc. If any...

The Hornady 45 gr soft point is also supposed to be a great round for yotes.

Re: Hornady 20 Caliber 45 Grain Soft Point

The factory 45's did very well out of my VLP. Under a 1/2". I've got some test loads with RL-10X ready for the range.

Awseome story and pics Rick. I havn't even been out for the little sod poodles yet. I'm hoping I can head out on Monday and Tuesday. Keep those pics coming. By the way the size of your pics seem to be okay now. I also have "dial up" and it took less than a minute for the pics to download.

Welcome aboard WCTHEMI. I do a lot of bowhunting around Whitecourt. Nice area. You'll find lots of info here in regards to the 204. The best site that I've ever found.

Thanks for the reply Rick. At the back of the instruction booklet they list another way to sight it in. Set up a large target and shoot a group at it from 500 yds away using the main crosshairs (200 yd zero) on the target. Impact will be signifacantly lower. Take a black marker and make a circle aro...

Sighting in the Leupold ballistic reticle

Just sighted in my 204 with the new Leupold VXL 6.5 - 20 x 56 extreme varmint reticle. A bit confused in regards to using the additional aiming points at different power settings. As per the instructions, I am supposed to have a 200 yd zero and because I am using the extreme varmint, I am supposed t...

RCBS hand tool works very well for me. I use two shell holders so I don't have to swap them out btween the press and the hand tool. Used to use the rockchucker press but was slow and could'nt get a good feel of the primer seating. Went to the hand tool and never went back.
