Re: Another small caliber bullet supplier

My 48 and 38 gr wildcats have arrived. Here are some photos I took comparing them with some others. I lined them up from tallest to shortest. The boxes in the background are the order that the standing bullets are in. The two laying down are the 48 and 38gr WC. I took one from overhead to compare th...

Another yote from off the deck

Problems at work last night and got called in. Got home at 5:00 AM At 8:00AM my son was getting ready to go to college and let the two dogs and cats outside. Shortly after I'm woken up from our small dog barking like crazy on the deck. I get up and looked out the window but could not see anything as...

Re: Laid for 32grain V-Max

How clean burning is Ramshot , when compared to H-4895, RL-10X, or Benchmark?

Re: Another yote from out the window

Not prime up here anymore. Stating to show "blue". Main goal is trying to thin out the pack here at home. He'll end up as "raven/ crow / magpie food", which gives me another target.

Another yote from out the window

Got another one this morning at 0830 hrs from the upstairs window of my wifes "craft room" 148 yds with a 35 gr berger, about 5 death spins and piled up 25 ft away. I've got at least 6 (now 5) yotes out here that have been creating havoc for me this past week. They've been trying to get my...

Re: Another small caliber bullet supplier

Gube; Where does he list the 20 calibre bullets? All that came up on the site you listed were 22 calibre and larger. He hasn't updated his web sight yet. Just send him an E-mail in regards to the two 20 cal bullets that he makes. (He is working on a bigger selection, from 25 up to 60 grain ultra lo...

Re: Another small caliber bullet supplier

We have a local bullet maker out here in Alberta that is producing 20 cal bullets. I just ordered 6 boxes of his 38 gr cup base ultra low drag and one box of his 48 gr rebated boat tails . BC will be higher than the sierra 39 gr blitz with a stronger jacket. Can't wait to try them out. Should be ult...

Re: Yote off of the deck

Sask Boy
My best results with the 35 bergers have been with benchmark, H-4895, and RL-10X
I would think that the H-4350 burn rate may be a tad to slow for the 35 gr. BUT it's always worth while giving it a try.

Yote off of the deck

I nailed this guy 187 yds from off of my deck on Thursday morning. A 35 gr berger with a nice load of benchmark. DRT. It was a nice break in the day as I was supposed to be studying for a steam engineering exam (I write my last one on Tuesday and then FREEDOM). Can't wait until skippy starts to show...

Re: Keyhole help!?!?

Have you measured your "run out". Excessive run out will create accuracy problems. Not to sure if it would cause key-holes.

Re: 40 grain V-Max and 1-12 twist barrels

My savage 12 VLP doesn't like them. .8" to over an 1" at 100 yds. My new savage 12 BTVSS will shoot them at under .5" at 100 yds all day. I have no explanation as to why. It's possible one barrel has a twist that is just slightly over 12 (VLP) and the BTVSS may have a twist that is ju...

Re: What is your opinion of a 37 grain bullet for the 204 Ruger?

I wonder how long the new Barnes 26 gr varmint grenade will be. Because it is lead free the overall length of this new specimen may be to long to stabilize in a 1 in 12 twist even though the weight is only 26 gr. If it is longer than the 40 gr V-max, it aint gonna fly. Hopefully Barnes has done thei...

Here's a handy calculater for figuring out barrel twist. http://kwk.us/twist.html Here's a quick explanation in regards to "boattail theory". http://wildcatbullets.homestead.com/BulletTheory.html Oh, by the way, Richard from Wildcat Bullets informed me that Corbin is working on the new die...

Re: New 204

The UPS man brought my brass and dies so I can get started on case prep. Got RCBS standard dies and 500 Winchester brass. Be sure to check your "runout" The RCBS seating dies are notorious for unaccebtable run out with the 204. You may want to try Redding competition or Hornady dies with ...
