Re: 35 Bergers:Whats your favorite powder?
35 bergers, 25.5 gr of RL-10X and 26.8 gr of benchmark in both of my Savages. These will print out under 1/2" all day long if I do my part.

Re: 35 grn bergers and 10X
Look under the 204 load data at the top of the page, and then click on Sierra. They list the min and max for the 32 and 39 gr BK's with RL-10X. For the 35 berger go in between the two and you will be fine. I personally have found 25.5 gr of RL-10X for the 35 gr bergers works great in both of my 204'...

Re: H4198 in 204 Ruger
The 32 gr. Sierra BlitzKings are the ONLY bullets I have had big stability problems with out of my Savage 12VLP. Even the 40 gr. V-Max bullets never tumbled on me, but weren't the best when it came to accuracy. The 32 gr. V-Max, 35 gr. FBHP Bergers, 39 gr. Sierras, 40 gr. Bergers, and 40 gr. Nosler...

Re: H4198 in 204 Ruger
Can not get very much variety in 20 cal bullets up here, 32 and 40 grainers from sierra, nosler and hornady, GOD, I wish I lived in the states!!! Try S.I.R out of Winnipeg. I buy most of my 20 cal bullets from there. Call first to check for stock. Their web site does not show all of the stuff that ...

Re: H4198 in 204 Ruger
Thanks for the info on H-4198 Silverfox. I plan to do some testing with this powder with the new 26 gr varmint grenades. I didn't know where I was going to start at, but I have a pretty good idea now.

Re: Nosler 2nds - .204 40gr
A couple of days ago I received an E-mail from Mike at Reloading seconds.com. I had tried to order some in the spring, but some US rules had changed and bullets were not allowed to be shipped into Canada. Here is his reply. Good stuff for us Canadians. I plan on picking up a whole whack of nosler 32...

Re: Another yote from off the deck X 3
Hows the duck hunting from your deck? Looks like it would be good too. I don't do to much duck or goose hunting any more as most of my time in the fall is spent chasing elk and moose with my bow. Pickings would be fairly easy in the fall as the ducks and especially the geese are always flying over ...

Another yote from off the deck X 3
Went to pour myself another cup of coffee at 8:30 this morning and lo and behold, when I looked out the window I see this fella come slinking in between the slough and my trout pond. Grabbed the 204 VLP and laid out on the deck using the bipod. Gave a couple of lip squeaks which got him to turn broa...

Re: Tell us about yourself...
Welcome aboard. Good to see you over here. Lots of good info specific to the 204 here. I started re-loading 2 years ago and basically everything I learned came from this site. How did the powder clean up on the carpet go? ![joystick :joystick:](./images/smilies/joystick.gif)

Re: Wild Goat Shooting New Zealand
Man, that would be a fun and wild trip, whakin bigger critters like that. Anytime you can go out and shoot multiple targets in a day is rated at the top for me. I'm jealous.

Re: 45gr
The factory 45 gr Hornady's did very well in both of my Savage 12's (VLP and BTVSS).
I loaded up a bunch of test loads a few months back but have not had the chance to fire them yet.

Re: Barnes 26gr Varmint Grenade
I just picked up two boxes of the V.G.'s from the local ma & pa shop. I've got some benchmark, H-4895, and a whole lot of RL-10X to experiment with. I'm thinking that the burn rates might be to slow for these light wieights. I may have to go out and try a faster burning powder like H-4198 or may...
