Awesome narrative and pics SF. I will be picking up a new fox-pro tomorrow and looking forward to testing it out. Have never used an electronic caller before.

Re: Which .204 to buy...CZ-USA or Savage?
The TC Venture is the only factory 204 out there that comes in a 10 twist which would enable you to use the 40 gr offerings. All other factory tubes come in 12 twist and are marginal for the 40+ grainers. I may possibly be looking to picking one of these up to add to my 204 arsenal. Rat fields beware.

Re: 6 mm 75 gr vmax
I have been trying to find some 87 gr V-max's for over a year now. My supplier from BC informed me that production should be starting some time early this spring. I am also anticipating some 87 gr berger VLD's to arrive along with the V-max's. I got to test the 87gr berger for them while they were ...

Re: 32gr Remington Accutip
I have tried both the 32 & 40 gr accutips. The 32's were like lasers. The 40 gr was horrible. Between 1 and 2" at 100 yds.

I do get the occasional "splash" but they do work pretty good and they fly like lasers.Melvin Eades wrote:Hey Gube, those Sierra 39's work, don't they?

A couple off of the ole "meatsickle"
Took these scruffy ones off of the 'Meatsickle" from the back of the deck. Both shot at about 260 yds out with the Savage BTVSS 204 using 39 gr BK's.

Re: Hornady 45 Gr. sp
I have found them to be much more accurate than the 40 V-max. I have shot a few yotes with them and it does knock them flat. I usually get exits on broadside shots. I tried them on g-squirrels as well, but they just "zip" through.

Re: New look for 204 Ruger
I just switched back to the Subsilver2 format. The new format is using up a lot of screen space on the left and right sides of the screen and was making me have to scroll side to side in order to see whole photos some times. The old format stretches completely from left to right and doesn't waste a...

Re: 32 vs 39 Grain SBK's
Gube: On the issue of the 32 SBK's tumbling.....why do you suppose that the only guys I hear of tumbling 32's are from Savage owners? I don't get it, and I'm not picking on Savage either.....just seems weird that the only complaints on tumbling 32SBK's all come from Savage owners. Barrels are barre...

Re: 32 vs 39 Grain SBK's
My experiences with the 32 gr BK's mirror Silverfox's. Lots of tumbles and hitting of the dirt well before the target in my VLP. I did get the tumbling to stop but only when powder charges were at minimum. It made no sense for me to use them at those reduced loads, when the 32 V-max and noslers were...

central coast of California Well then, that figures. Our rats come up about a month after the Kalifornia squirrels emerge. That's some beautiful country there in that area. Hope you have a good season, let us know how you make out. Remember, we like pictures here...... ;) P.S. Thanks for adding you...
