Nice song dog Melvin. It sure gives you a nice feeling when you finally settle the scope in on a long distance song dog, squeeze, and instantly watch him drop while looking through the scope. Keep the stories coming.

Re: rcbs powder funnels - static electricity
Used to struggle with those issues and finally went out and ordered the aluminum Satern Funnels. Once you use these, you will never go back to plastic again. I think I ordered mine from Sinclairs http://www.sinclairintl.com/product/11270/Powder-Funnels http://www.saternmachining.com/PowderFunnel.htm

Very nice descriptive story along with the photos. Almost made me feel like I was also there. How big was this ranch?

Re: new guy here 45 gr sp hornady
Thanks for the lineup Gube! Gube, you've shot game with the 45gr SP correct? I recently had one hit a fox in the hip, and was surprised it blew a 5" exit out the gut like you'd expect a only a ballistic tip would do. Made me kind of nervous about whether I'll save any fur using them. More resu...

Re: new guy here 45 gr sp hornady
Welcome aboard. Yes the 45 sp is easier to stabilize than the 40 V-max, at least in my experiences. It is a tad shorter than the v-max. Here are some photos for comparing lengths of some of the popular 20 cal boolits. Red and black boxes are Alberta made 38 and 48 gr wildcats. I lined them up from t...

The "notifications" had stopped for a while, but I see they are back up and working again.

Neat stuff. That bulgy eyeball makes that yote looks like something out of a cartoon character.

Re: First blood on the Dtech
Great story and initiation for the 204. As for the 45 gr sp's, I have used them on yotes and for the most part entrance and exit holes vary between the size of a quarter and a silver dollar on middle chest broadside shots. Never used any on foxes.

Re: This one came "gift wrapped"
It's set up at a lasered 250 yds away. Depending on where they "hang up", shots can be all the way out to just over 500 yds.furhntr wrote:How far is your bait from your house?

Way to go. Keep on pounding them. I wish we were allowed to use lights and shoot at night.
