Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Allen,

They quoted $300 for the regular Phoenix stock (black with red webbing), $125 to fit and bed. I ordered the olive drab green stock with black webbing which costs another $200.

Pretty pricey! Thanks a lot Rick! :(

Source for 17 Fireball

Does anyone know of a source for either 17 FB brass or factory rounds?

Thanks!

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Rick, I have the mediums. I grabbed the wrong ones thinking they were low. The way my scope sits right now is that it is pushed as far forward as possible. I'm not getting a good cheek weld since I have to lift my head up and back a little. I'll order the low rings and see how that works. Funny how ...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Quick question on scope mounts. I have the Leupold VX-3 6.5-20 40mm scope wit standard 30mm Leupold rings on the rifle right now. When I mount the scope at 20x, I have to sit back and pull away from the scope. I have the scope mounted as far forward as possible but it doesn't fell comfortable. The i...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Ok do spoke to Shirley, super nice lady, and will be sending the rifle back. While there I'm having them install a OD Green Phoenix stock with black webbing. Figured if I'm going to send them the rifle might as well have them fit a Phoenix stock to it. So hopefully I'll have a nice Phoenix stocked M...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Ok so Cooper replaced the extractor and sent it back. I finally was able to take the rifle out to shoot today. After 10 or so rounds, it failed to extract AGAIN!! I looked at the extractor and it looks ok. I've fired less than 20 rounds in this rifle and it's getting to be a little frustrating. I've...

Sort brass for different rifles?

I'm about to get a second rifle in 204 and wondered if I had to sort the fired brass for each rifle? If I mixed them would I need to FL size them?

Thanks.

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

I don't know why I'm asking about 17's when I just picked up a CZ 527 Varmint in 204.

If you guys read about a gun nut killed by his wife in Sacramento, you can say "I know that guy!". ;)

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

Ok so since Bodei brought it up, what 17 would you get? I have two 17 HMR's already so the rimfires are covered. 17 HH or 17 Fireball?

I asked this question on Saubiers and response was mixed.

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

I bought my M38 on GB for slightly over $1600. It was listed as new but I noticed water marked on the stock and the extractor was broken. Still a beautiful rifle though. I spoke to Cooper and will send in the rifle to get a new Phoenix stock in green with black webbing installed. Then look out littl...

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

I just got off the phone with Shirley at Coopers and they fixed the extractor and shipped it back to me on the same day!

Awesome service! I can wait to take her out for some long awaited shooting session.

Re: New 20 VT rifle in the way!

I spoke to Cooper yesterday and they think it's an extractor issue. I'm sendin it back to them. Looking closely, the extractor doesn't seem to have much grip on the rim of a case. I checked my cases and there are no marks to indicate high pressure. Anyhow, hopefully they can resolve it so I can work...
