H-S precision

h-s precision has taken on a new spokes person, that man would be lon horiuchi, for those that are unfamiliar with that name he was the F.B.I Sniper that shot Vicki Weaver in the head while she stood in the doorway of her house, the only thing that she was holding was her baby! I find it incredible ...

so called gun magazines

Recently I was thumbing through a hunting magazine and found a article on shooting coyotes, I read along until the author stated that the .17 Remington and the .204 ruger were good on coyotes out to 150yds but shouldn't be used past that distance, At this point I digustedly threw the magazine back o...

Re: Tejon Ranch no lead 141 squirrels 8-3-08

Okay I got a question! how exactly do they enforce the lead ban? because a 26gr barnes and a 30gr berger look pretty much the same in a case! I can't exactly see how they can possibly enforce this! just wondering (my rebellious nature rising to the surface)

Re: new stock

Not that I'm aware of! Boyds stocks are less work and closer to being finished! but they still require some work! I'm not sure if they carry stocks for the cz but they might! if money is not at issue you can have richards do alot of the prep for you but it's gonna cost! Good luck!

Re: Benchmark and Temperature

I live and shoot in Texas, temprature extremes are the norm here, can be 60 one day and 92 the next, august it easily gets over 100 degrees! I have used h335 with no problems but I'm always careful, I have used BLC-2 with to say the least dramatic results, and Benchmark is the best powder I have fou...

Re: new stock

my rifle is a hunting rifle! shoots great off the bench, but does fine walking around! My 17yo son has a howa 1500 heavy barrel .204, it has a boyds thumbhole stock on it! I watched him snap shoot a running jackrabbit from 40yds away! thumbhole didn't seem to bother him at all! To me the thumbhole s...

Montana Rifle Actions

I received an E-mail from Montana Rifles, they are once again taking orders for their mini actions, these are suitable for any cartridge that uses the .223 case head, these will probably go into production next year! If anybody is interested in building a custom Rifle, you might look into it! I'll p...

Re: Varmit Grenade

My dad used some of the varmint grenades on a couple of texas jackrabbits, blew a tennis ball size hole coming out! worked pretty well!

I loaded them with benchmark 28.8grs, cci450 primers, remington brass if my memory is correct!

Re: overcomming BIG BORE syndrome

First of all you are talking apples and oranges! the .270 is an okay deer cartridge(30.06 is better) .204 is a varmint cartridge! it's not intended to kill deer it's meant to reach out and touch very small animals at extended ranges, tell him if he's so sure of his 270, you would be more than happy ...

Re: Scope for a 17HMR.

My son's bsa on his Rem 597, the reticles are as best as I can describe it are bleeding, they are no longer crisp round dots but seem to be smearing, kinda hard to discribe, but looking at replacing with a bushnell legend 5-15X mil dot scope!
