Re: Summer of 2021 Challenge Winners Circle

As others have said, thank you Skipper for putting this on. And cudos to the winners. Those are awesome groups. Yet I'm quite happy with my 7th place. I hadn't pulled out a rifle in months and my CZ527 in nearly a year. I shot Hornady factory loads (45 gr). Maybe some day I'll do some reloading and ...

Re: *Attention Members* Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge

I just got out (finally) and put my five shots on paper. I'll get it in the mail tomorrow. Hopefully, it will arrive before October 1st. I scored it using OnTarget. I'm curious to see how close my score matches the official. I'm also curious to see the scores others received. I imagine some will be ...

Re: *Attention Members* Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge

SerenityNetworks you are registered for the Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge. Just FYI, messages stay in your Outbox UNTIL the recipient opens them. That way you know when your message has been opened. Thanks Skipper. I wasn't aware of the outbox feature. And thanks again for doing all this. Andrew

Re: *Attention Members* Summer of 2021 Five Shot Challenge

Skipper, have you received my entry PM(s)? I've sent my information a couple of times, but the messages remain in my Outbox. They never move to my Sent mail. I've tried three different browsers.

Thanks,
Andrew (SerenityNetworks)

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

One detail to consider is to always scan the targets using the same scanner so that each has the same dimensions as the next. Two different scanners could yield two different dimensions/proportions/aspects. Then import them into On Target for measuring. Just saying. I haven't used OnTarget for a fe...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

"If it's just the 'tightest group' wins then the target style or picture shouldn't matter." "Most of the time I just take a red target dot ( one inch model) and stick it on a sheet of paper." Doh! Of course, the particular target wouldn't matter. Only some sort of mark for the c...

Re: Monthly Shootout: Any interest?

I haven't read all the posts, but the few I saw had some nice input. For my part, here are a few thoughts: 100 yards only. Perhaps use some standard NRA target. That would allow people with printers to print it and people without printers to just order some already printed. (Another online contest i...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

Hmmm. I don't know Bill. I've shot better than what I posted for this match, but I don't think I've ever shot a hundred yard group as good as the one you posted. That was sweet. I shot an 11/16th 10 shot group once (and only once) and that's the best I recall ever doing. I'm hoping when I retire tha...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

I got mine in the mail today. JaxTeller, I'd suggest you submit anyway. What the heck. Look what I did on my 50/500 25 yard offhand iron sights challenge at RimfireCentral. I totally pooched one of the 5 targets and scored a 68. The holes were all over the place. I even missed the 5 ring with one sh...

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

How are folks doing? I was just glad to be able to get out and shoot. I haven't been shooting for about 6 months and this weekend would be my last chance until September. It poured Saturday, but Sunday I was able to get out with our boy Matt who is down visiting from Iowa with his wife Julie. I don'...

Question: Is the judging only on group size or is it group size and relationship to the bull?

Re: 2017 204 Ruger Five Shot Challenge

Oh my! I wish I'd seen this post before. I'll PM the information to get a target, but we're in the process of moving and I'm not sure at all whether I'll have the chance to get out and shoot before 9/1. I'll certainly try. Anyway, here are a couple thoughts on the topic. 1) When we talk about catego...
