Re: round does not fully chamber
I had a similar problem to yours. My problem was that when I went to seat the bullets, my seating die was turned in too far. It was pushing the shoulder back minutely; but just enough to not allow the loaded round to fit in my gun. I was looking at everything for awhile until I realized my mistake. ...

Re: Pics of your 204's
Remington SPS , changed stock to a Bell and Carlson from an LVSF. A little Krylon, some paw prints, and it's ready for action once again!

Re: Breaking News! Nosler .17 Caliber Bullets!
Great news for 17 shooters! However, Remington is only producing the 17 Remington Fireball, and not the 17 Remington! What's the word on that? Seems like it's going to be very difficult to buy a factory 17 Remington.

Re: Still Too Much Bullet.
IF by Solids, you mean FMJ's, Solid bullets are poor choices for hunting bullets. If I am not mistaken, I don't believe we can even use them for hunting here in Alberta. From what I've read and seen that 35gr Berger is fairly hard to beat for a fur friendly load.

Re: Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
Prdtrgttr Your target looks like a classic example of a barrel rebelling against high velocity and clean burning powder. To get a huge dispersion in results like that with the same powder/bullet combo drastically changing bore conditions must be evident. What other high velocity loads have you used...

Re: stock painting
This paint job is awesome, how did you get these results? I wanted to do my stock on my SPS like this. I have the same base color but I was unsure how to do the webbing.huntsman22 wrote:

Re: Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
I received some 35gr Bergers, and am extremely excited about the results. You can see the difference 2 grains of powder makes. I am using H4895, the powder ranges are 26grs, 27gr, and 28grs. The COL is 2.267

Re: Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
Thanks again Gube, I thought the min was 26! I could get my gun to shoot around 1", with 26.3 - 26.5grs of H4895-and as I increased in powder, so did the group size, I am going to head into my gun room shortly and load some around that 25.5 mark. I'll keep you posted,
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
Thanks for the reply Gube... Isn't 26 the minimum load for 40gr bullets in front of H4895? I notice that you are using 25.5? What velocities are they recording? What's your grouping like with that load?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
I don't mind to try the Blitzkings, however, I want this gun for shooting coyotes, and the 40gr Bergers have been very fur friendly. What are the Blitzkings like? Are they a good fur bullet?

Accuracy of 40gr Bergers vs 35gr Bergers
I've got a Remington 700 SPS, I've replaced the trigger with a Timney, bedded the stock(which I should really throw out and replace), and floated the barrel. Using both 40gr Vmaxes and 40gr Bergers, I've had fairly inconsistent groups. Once I get below 26.6grs of H4895, I can group around an inch. A...

Webbing
Huntsman, I love that paint job you did. I painted my SPS las year, and that was the painting I wanted, however, I didn't have the know how. I wasn't sure how to do that webbing. Is it easy to do? Can you give us a simple how to? Once again, awesome paint job and thanks for sharing.
