Hi have some questions for the gurus on chronographs. shooting a savage custom 204, 40 gr v max 26.4 4895 my chrony shows 3900 fps I feel registering way to fast, chrony is as far away as I can get it with the remote read out cord. thanks bill for info, I have a 7 lb jug of 10x same powder, it baffles me but I guess it is shooting so like they say don't fix what is working, but again drives me nuts I just have the need to know

I soaked the barrel especially around throat. cleaned no black at all scrubbed with brush again still nothing.so off to range yesterday, old pet load blew primer, I have come to the conclusion that for what ever reason it will not handle this load anymore, shot new loads 1 grain less powder than the...

I have a bar scale very accurate checked with friends weight right on. I even shot the loads that I had made up and used for groundhogs that worked fine. I am doing major clean today on barrel. sI always run carb out first before sweets scurb with brush , patch till clean, I give it some extra work ...

thanks guys for helping, same lot of primers, same lot of powder and bullets, I use a hornady measuring tool to find lands, and it shot 3 thousands off lands before one ragged hole . In three years from new barrel to now it has eroded three thousands, should not make any difference with load if noth...

I have a 204 pac nor barrel 1-10 twist savage target action. here is the rub, last year I was loading 40 gr v max 25.5 gr 10x it was shooting lights out. Now I blow primers with that load, and down to 25.0 10 x . I have been at 24.8 shoots great again but WHY would the load change and blow primers. ...

I use winchester brass, cci 450 primers, 25.5 gr RL10X with 32 gr bk, and 26.5 with the 32 v max, and 24.5 with the 39 gr bk. With all loads the first fireing after fl size with sticky ejection i am shooting half inch or smaller at 100. almost all of the brass after that shooting needs shoulder bump...

I fl size brass goes in chamber perfect ejects perfect. after theyare fireformed i shoot them some are fine some are super sticky ejecting. the lenght is fine it is the shoulder. i either bump it back with a body die or fl size it. My loads are not hot and using rl10x. I have never had this problem ...

i have found a difference in almost every bullet. i use my micro seater die to make them all the same length. using your calipers size each bullet and you will see a difference. I do it everytime, i feel it lets the bullet slide in better, as long as you do not get to strong with the tools i have not had a problem.
