Re: More Newbie Questions
Thanks guys. I did as instructed and it is working fine now. I used alcohol to remove the WD40 and it is smooth as glass.

Re: More Newbie Questions
It wasn't the powder type it did it on all of them. Tom I hope that the WD40 doesn't screw up anything I tried to be careful and not get it in the holes where the powder goes. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Re: More Newbie Questions
Its a Hornady thrower but I can't find the model number on it. I bought it used. I just took it apart and WD-40'd the inside part that rubs and it is really smooth now. Hope I didn't screw it up but I had to do something.

Re: More Newbie Questions
I am using Redding dies. Maybe I missed a case or two on the resizing then, thanks. Any ideas on the power thrower problem?

More Newbie Questions
Well I loaded up a bunch of Berger 35's again today and had a few technical difficulties. Here they are; 1. My powder thrower is now working very rough. I have to use considerable force to move the handle up and down. Plus it is throwing the charges very inconsistently. 2. I had two or three cases t...

Re: What Primers
Brass is available from Midsouth. I have 500 rounds now and could order more but I don't know how much I will need. Once this rifle is sighted in it will strictly be for predators. I have a blueprint for the build so the exact dimensions are on there. I could have Redding build me a set of dies off ...

Re: What Primers
brass is easy to get from Midway or Midsouth. I bought 500 rounds of unfired .222 Rem Mag Remington brass before I had the build completed. http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/browse?TabID=1&Categoryid=9609&categorystring=9315***652***670***9013*** http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item...

Re: What Primers
My understanding is that the Lapua won't work for me. Mine is a 6mm-.222 rem mag aka 6x47.

Re: What Primers
Skipper thanks for the tip. I didn't realize you could call them and have dies made up. I will do that today. I have Redding dies now so maybe I will call them. What exactly should I ask for? I currently have their standard dies Full Length resizer and bullet seater. If you don't mind be specific ab...

Re: What Primers
Skipper I had a heck of a time finding dies for this caliber. There are no nice dies even made for it like there are for my .204. Where would I get a neck sizing die for a 6x47? As far as the nice bullet seating die with the micrometer top they aren't out there.

Re: New Build
Thanks for the comments guys. I will let you all know how she shoots as soon as I can get out. Rick I am in So Cal but the weather is the only thing that's nice. Actually though the predator hunting is really good as well. My partner and I are up to 75 coyotes and 7 bobcats since July 4th. I am hopi...

Re: What Primers
You guys are awesome! I am still pretty new at this but the descriptions were so good even I get it. I pic the rifle up today and will take some pics. My gauge isn't cut away but I sill follow the info Skipper gave. Question, I assume fire forming just means cases I have shot through the new rifle a...

Re: What Primers
Soon as I pick it up I will post some pics of it. Thanks again for the info. The gunsmith made me a "chamber" that exactly matches my actual chamber using a cut off part of my barrel. He showed me how to use a marker pen on the shoulder and bullet of a loaded round and then insert it into ...
