I think it's important even for a factory chamber. But you don't wan't to cut them any more than you need. As a factory chamber is a little over size to start with. I clean up the neck with the first cutting. Then load them up and shoot it, then make my last cut on the neck so i get the same thickne...

Big-Bullseye, here are a few things i use. case trimer - redding trim dies, But i don't think they will work in a co-ax press. lube- Imperial dry neck lube & case sizing wax and the rcbs lube for full lenght sizing case's. i have a good set of dial calipers from a auto. store. a rcbs case master...

Varminter, i have to disagree with sagebrush about getting a 243 to shoot better than a 1/2 inch groups. Try this load, 70gr. berger bullet set at 2.620 OAL lenght.case lenght 2.620, i use rem. cases and 42.0 grs of varget powder. This is being shoot out of my old H. B. rem. with ws2 coated bullets....

I only shoot on the week ends, and it might take me 2hrs. to shoot 30 rounds. It never pays to get in a hurry when shooting for groups or even just doing a powder test. Take your time and have fun with it.

I've got some old 3 peace cleaning rods. I'l take one and put a old wire brush on it and put some cleanning patches on it tell it's alittle tight in the chamber. then put the rod in a drill with some flitz on the patches and your set to go. Make sure you clean it out good when your done. I use aloch...

Varmintcaller, You can take some Flitz compound and try polishing the chamber. That should take care of it for you.

Ryan, I've got both of my rem. down to 1lb. 4 oz. That's about as low as i could go and the safty stell work's good. They will go lower but i found the safty wouldn't work them.
