Re: Help with load data for the 55 Berger .204

Jamie, unless you have a fast twist barrel, your factory barrel is most likely a 12 twist and will not stabilize a 50gr bullet. Bullets in that range will require something like a 9 twist, and then your velocity will be then be something like a 223. There are much better cases for .20 cal heavy bul...

Help with load data for the 55 Berger .204

Hi folks, I generally use 32's and 40's in my .204. But I've just got hold of some Berger 50's and 55's, and wanted to give them a go. My problem is finding any load data. I've found some for the 50 Berger's, but nothing for the 55's. Can anyone help with some data? I have IMR8208XBR, Hodgdon's BLC2...

Re: Best load with Hornady vmax 40 gns Please

Hi Rick,
Yes i have. It's the 2nd Edition Modern Lee reloading manual.
I know each gun suits different loads, but i was just trying to find some tried and tested loads and give them a go first.
I have a strict regime when reloading and never go outside the recommended min or max loads.

Re: Using the Hornady Comparitor

Well that puts me well and truly in my place! And i have to say i totally agree. Accuracy is more important than the time it takes to make the round! Thanks to Rick and Ramos for pointing out what i seem to have temporarily lost sight of! I will stick to what i have and concentrate on accurac...

Re: Using the Hornady Comparitor

So all that time i've spent bagging up bullets in the closest weight and length was worth nothing! :wall: Rick, will a micrometer make my reloading any quicker than a standard die. Spending time adjusting depth and using my kinetic hammer when i seat a bullet a little too deep? If the normal "V...

Re: Using the Hornady Comparitor

Thanks for the replies folks. How would a micrometer seating die speed the system up. Just a more accurate die ?? As for touching the lands, this isn't possible in most cases with the .204 Ruger. At least not with the Hornady v-max 32's. The 32gn heads just fall out the brass! The Hornady v-ma...

Using the Hornady Comparitor

Hi folks, I'm now the owner of a Hornady Comparitor. So obviously i can measure my oal accurately. Now comes the really dumb question!.. Before the comparator i would measure the oal with a digital vernier gauge tip to base, then spend lots of time seating each bullet abit at a time to get them all ...

Best load with Hornady vmax 40 gns Please

Hi folks, Sorry to be a pain. I have looked at the load data on the forum, but there always seems to be one thing different to my set-up. After good advice from this forum i now have a consistant good group with my 32's, in my CZ 527. However, i'm about to try the Hornady 40gn vmax heads along with ...

Depriming problem.

Hi folks. I've got a problem with my Lee single stage reloading press. It's the "50th anniversary kit ram" When i "de-prime" the cases, almost all of the de-primed primers fall to the wrong side of the ram. I haven't moved any part of the ram at all. And it's how it came in the b...

Re: Are "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks" any good???

Jamie, This is my 204 ruger in a kimber. This is the Richards in the Tac-Driver at $139.00. I have been happy with it. I looked it up on the web. page and it is on the list for the CZ527. They are great people to work with. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k11/flyingczech/Coyotes2012-2013009.jpg G...

Are "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks" any good???

Hi folks, I'm trying to order a stock from "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks, Inc" in California, USA for my CZ 527 American, obviously in .204 Ruger. Yet they're not replying to my emails. I've even called them from the uk! But they're continually engaged and i'm put through to an answer phon...
