Re: Advice needed please....
Thought i'd give you folks an update. And also abit of info if anyone else out there is starting out like me :) Yesterday i managed to get out and try a few home loads. The weather was cold, with a slight breeze. I was lay on a ground sheet in a cold muddy field. Not the most comfortable of position...

Re: Importing a Stock to the UK from the USA
Thank-you! Much appreciated :) 19-01-13 I went with a "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks" stock in the end. This one - http://www.rifle-stocks.com/thumholetarget.htm However, i've been slated on a uk forum for using this stock with the "dinky CZ .204 Ruger action" Adding insult to inj...

Importing a Stock to the UK from the USA
Hi folks, Can anyone suggest a stock maker/supplier for me that would export to the uk for a reasonable cost. I've tried Boyds in the USA but it's like theres a language barrier!! :wall: I'm after a composite tactical style stock with adjustable cheek peice for my CZ 527 American. Can anyone suggest...

Re: What lands setting is best???
Cheers fellas! Especially Rick. To be honest i was kind of glad to get the responses i had. I was starting to get bogged down with too much of the technical side of things and not just enjoying the basic science of reloading and enjoying trying out various loads. At the moment i'm on my first lot of...

What lands setting is best???
I'm trying to get my head around lands and what is best, Just off the lands or just touching the lands? My lee "modern reloading" manual (2nd edition) states a maximum c.o.a.l of 2.260 yet when i tested the distance to the lands using the slight friction method with the bullet in the case,...

Re: Advice needed please....
Hello again folks. Thanks for the replies. I've just noticed something different about my Sierra Blitzking bullets in my reloads, compared to my Remington 32 grain Accutip-v and Hornady Superformance 24 grain NTX factory round bullet heads. There is no gap at all between the polymer tip and the copp...

Re: Advice needed please....
A lot of guys really like and swear by the Sierra 39 gr. They work pretty good for me but not as well as the Nosler 32 gr. Varmageddon. I have yet to try the 35 gr. Berger but I've read and been told by a few that it is "the" .204 bullet. It is really good to get advice and recommends fro...

Re: Advice needed please....
Thanks for the info Jim. When people write "H4895" i presume the H is for Hogdons? As for your CZ 527 American, thats odd as my 527 American came free floated? And thats spooky about the bedding as i was reading up on glass bedding for mine just last night! Did you bed the whole action, an...

Re: Advice needed please....
Thanks for the info folks. Bob, thanks for the info, including the bullet head info. Is there a particulat bullet that most people swear by, or is it a case of finding out what the gun prefers? If not i'm just wondering what would likely to be the best bullet to go for? A 32 grain Hornady V-Max, or ...

Re: Advice needed please....
Thanks fellas,
I do have a chrono so i'll see what fps i'm getting with my reloads then compare with my Remington Accutip-v.
Is it possible to buy the Remington bullets on their own on the open market?
Thanks
Jamie

Advice needed please....
Hi folks, I'm a few weeks into starting to reload my own ammo for my CZ 527 American. I've not had great sucess, but the gun hasn't exploded yet so i'm doing something right, (So far!) I'm finding that my Remington factory rounds are the best. Achieving .6" groups with 5 shots at 100 yards. The...

Re: What is wrong with these primers? Picture
I'm a newbie to reloading, however, for what it's worth i did see a similar picture during my huge amount of research lately and i recall this particular site stating it was caused by incorrect or excessive head space. Just a thought??

Re: Should i clean my brass/cases?
1 love the federal brass , on the 8th reload with one box and only ever neck size and only trimmed once , only shooting one box then reload the same 20 rounds again just as an experiment to see what brass life will be and find out at what point i will need to bump the shoulders back as for your que...

Re: Should i clean my brass/cases?
Clean is clean. Nothing wrong with what you are doing, just a little more labor intensive. Be sure and clean the inside of the necks with a brush. As far as the load, I don't use that powder so I can't comment on that. I will say that many of us have given up on Hornaday brass for this cartridge. T...
