Re: Preferred barrel?

Guy, let me put in my 2 cents for Shilen. My gunsmith put a shillen on my VLS when the factory barrel smooth wore out. He used a standard reamer from PTG, and if I use 24.5grs of RE-10X behind a Berger 40gr and 205M primers, I'll get groups in the .25 range. Also, a friend of mine is using a Kreiger...

Re: Question about brass

In my experiance Hornady brass is the least consistant brass I've used. The weight is all over the place(as much as 2-1/2 grains different), and the flash holes are really hard to ream. Then, about 6 months ago, I bought some Norma brass, and what a difference! The flash holes do not need to be ream...

Re: Neck Tension #2!

Hold'em- Thanks for the advice, I think I'll load up the next batch with the .224 bushing and see what happens.

Neck Tension #2!

I know that the neck tension question has been worked to death, but I have a variation on that question. First, I'm using Norma brass. I originally bought a .224 neck bushing, but realized it was too tight, so I remeasured a loaded case, subtracted .001, and ordered a .228, and then a .227 bushing. ...

Re: Arbor Press ??

I've got a Harrell arbor press that I like a lot. I'm using it with a Wilson seating die(non-micrometer), and I swear it cut my groups in half. I really like the way the bullet has to seat straight. I'm pretty sure that the one Sinclair sells is just a re-badged Harrell. Correct me if I'm wrong :) M...

Joe- No, it's not a cowl induction hood, but just the "bump" hood standard on the SS cars. It is, however, an NOS hood, and came in the original GM factory packaging. I got it from Year One, $459., I think, but it has been 6-7 years. The main reason I didn't get a cowl induction hood was i...

Thanks for the comments... Yes, I can light the tires up any time, and at the drag strip, my first 60-100' is nothing but tire spin. I do have a complete Hotchkis suspension in the rear end, and KYB shocks all around, but it didn't help much. With the overdrive engaged, it is better, but still not g...

Well, I have to chime in here. My '71 Elky has a 502BB under the hood. Not the aluminun head 502hp model, but with a Holley 850 double pumper and 3.73 Eaton posi, it'll suck the Super Unleaded like nobody's business! I can't drive it to the range(72 miles round trip), 'cause I can't afford gas and a...
