Re: Prairie Doggin' in God's Country
Lucky guy to have access to a target rich environment like that, all to yourselves!  I was going to Montana tomorrow, BUT they are having rain and thunder storms!!  Hope to try it in June. It is a 12 hour drive for me. You can see the damage that the prairie dogs are doing. ...

Who Said the .22 Hornet Wasn't Accurate?
I have a buddy that gives me a bad time about my Hornet, claiming that it is an inherently inaccurate round. I guess nobody ever told my rifle. . . http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn124/TaxPhd/IMG_0358_2.jpg Cooper Model 38 Varminter in .22 Hornet. 40 grain V-Max 13 grains of Lil Gun It's pure po...

Re: Prairie Doggin' in God's Country
I'm already planning to add a 20 VT to the mix. I just have to sell a couple of guns to finance a new Cooper to add to the two model 38's I already have. Sage rats are DEFINATELY on the list for me to do. I'd like to do it this year, but I'm probably a little late to be able to figure out whe...

Prairie Doggin' in God's Country
For those of you that aren't blessed to be able to live were the prairie dogs roam, thought I'd post a few pictures to show you what you're missing. http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn124/TaxPhd/IMG_0353.jpg http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn124/TaxPhd/IMG_0347.jpg http://i303.photobucket.com/a...

Re: CZ 527 in 221 Fireball. What to Do?
Scott , that CZ in 221FB is now quite a desirable item, and there are many who would snap it up in a heartbeat if you decide to sell, as CZ does not offer the caliber at present, and there's guys that constantly cruise the net for them. I've also got a Cooper M38 in 221FB and like yours, it easily ...

CZ 527 in 221 Fireball. What to Do?
I have a 527 in 221 Fireball, and I have never got it to shoot as good as I think it should. It's not bad, maybe an inch on a good day, but when I compare it to my Cooper mdl 38 in the same caliber, the CZ falls short, as my Cooper shoots in the 2's when I do my part. Given that I have one rifle in ...

Re: Re-Chambering a Cooper
I f they won't return the old barrel, that solves my problem. I'll find another 'smith to do the re-chambering.

Got a response from Cooper. They said they would re-barrel the rifle, but not re-chamber.
I wonder why?

Thanks, Rick. I actually just sent them an e-mail this morning asking about it.

Re-Chambering a Cooper
I have a Cooper mdl 38 Varminter in .22 Hornet, and I would like to re-chamber it to .22 K Hornet. Does Cooper do this kind of gunsmithing service on their rifles, or do I need to find an independent gunsmith? If so, does anyone have recommendations?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: What is your go to shot gun?
My go-to gun is very unique. It is an E. Harrison (predecessor company that joined Cogswell to become Cogswell & Harrison, for those of you that know English guns), 12 bore, round action, assisted opening, boxlock ejector. That's right. Round action, assisted opening, boxlock. There are some out...

Re: Leupold Custom Shop 2.5-8X
Scope is as advertised. In a word, perfect. The transaction was smooth, with no hassles.
I am very pleased with all aspects of the transaction, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Rick again. He is definitely one of the good guys.
