I believe that my savage 12fv weighs in at about 8 pounds naked. That's why I went with it over a wood stocked version. But in retrospect, I sometimes wish I would've went with a lighter barrel contour. I've thought about having my gunsmith chuck up the barrel and reduce the muzzle and taper it back...
