The mv sounds a little suspicious. 25gr of 10x "should" give you around 3800-3900 fps by the book (Lyman #49). Might account for some of the unexpected drop. Even so, I wouldn't expect much more than 1 MOA drop.
Did the POI come back to zero when you moved back to 100? Maybe a scope shift.

Re: Need help on picking out a Ruger 204 rifle
Agree with the 24" barrel recommendation. I have a couple of 26" Coopers and they are indeed front heavy. When the barrels go, I'll replace with 24". Everything I've read and experienced is that longer does not = more accurate, just a little more velocity. I'd rather hit my target slo...

Re: Need help on picking out a Ruger 204 rifle
Cooper for sure if you want a classic, out-of-the-box shooter. The M21 in its various stock configurations is a very nice rifle. I also have a few of these, including this Savage http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/12BTCSS They all shoot well and as Rick said, the Savage is a BUFF (according to...

It only works that way "if you do your part".

Re: Rifle advice!
I've got one of these that's a heck of a shooter. I'd let it go if interested. I picked up a Cooper and really don't need 2. http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/12BTCSS

Re: NEW BARREL BREAK-IN ???
You'll like that Jard. Store the Cooper separately, preferably in another room. They have a tendency to multiply.

Re: NEW BARREL BREAK-IN ???
Oh Boy...a new Cooper. Congrats. First one??? I've always figured that every Cooper comes to you with a minimum 4 shots down the barrel. I'm sure they don't clean between shots. I take a middle of the road approach and shoot 5 then clean, then repeat. The barrel tells me when it's ready. Some come c...

Re: AR FUNCTION QUESTIONS?
I believe the '16 is a heavier bolt carrier which could cause some short cycling. Cutting off a loop of buffer spring seems counter-intuitive. Most of my short cycling problems have been solved with plenty of lube during break-in and plenty of rounds to cycle the action. I have a Les Baer that took ...

Could indicate the need for a small base die to get that little extra sizing down low on the case.

Re: neck tension issue?
Nice Jim.
One quick check you might want to do is measure neck diameter of loaded ammunition. That will give you an indication of neck thickness variations.

Re: My take on a 4-station gun vise
Thanks fellas. I need to pad the vise jaws since the gun stock sleeves have been discontinued and mine are wearing out. I'm thinking some heavy, soft leather. The most difficult part of the whole project was modifying the clamps. If I had done a better job on the vise handles, I might have been able...

My take on a 4-station gun vise
My wife and I shoot at the range quite a bit. The Kids like to go with us (daughter and son-in-law). I usually bring back at least 3, sometimes 6, dirty rifles. My space for cleaning had enough room for 3 commercial gun stands. I got real bored during the spring blizzards and came up with a 4 statio...

Re: OUTSIDE NECK TURNING?
Hi Jim, I'll take a run at this one based only on my experience. I'm really liking my 21st Century Lathe and turning tool. I use it with a Bosch i-Driver and I can turn up a storm. A few things about how I do it. First, I do not turn Hornet or Bee brass. I think it's too thin to begin with. If I stu...
