will those are darn nice groups. I just got my order of 500 Hornedy bullets from Midway so I'm getting ready for squirrel season this spring. I've also got one of the CZ's and my groups look like this. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q172/faucettb/Guns/CZ52720440grHorn09-09-063.jpg http://i136.ph...

Actually Sportfeller its across the Clearwater from Southwick on the Peck side. Go up the New Merose grade. When you come to the old Melrose Church take the next left. It will be labeled the Timmons road and it's more of a field access road that crosses to the next road. The draw actually starts beh...

Yote hunting with a new friend

Had a young fella drop in today from Minnasota. He had been yote hunting in Montana and had called me before he left home and ask if I would show him some of the places I hunt here in Idaho. We went up on the Camas Praire and low and behold there was a coyote in the first place I usually hunt. Just ...

Sounds like you've got a nice gun. Don't know who filled your head with that nonsense about variable scopes, but it's just not true. Even my old Japanese Tasco 8 by 32 doesn't do that. Nothing wrong with a fixed power though. The only downside is if your calling and have a coyote show up at your doo...

There are lots of great guns out there. I shoot Remington, Ruger #1's and CZ's. For a varmit rifle in 204 you can't beat the CZ 527's. Mine is the Varmit model with the 25.5 inch medium barrel. If you like Remingtons the new cdl models are great looking and shooting guns. CZ 527 Varmit, 204 Ruger ht...

204 still hasn't killed a coyote

I did get out today, but didn't do much besides road hunt. It was raining cats and dogs (not yodal dogs) and just ended up going for a ride. The snow is coming off the fields with all the rain and getting to some of my sets is darn near impossible. The ice is going out on the Clearwater from our mon...

Congrats on the cat Ryan. Yup, you need a little portable tripod. I've got one that can set up on three four inch legs or be strapped to a tree or brush with a velcro strap that stays on the tripod and probably goes at 2 or 3 ounces.

Take a look at Richards Micro-fit in the old classic style. It's a pretty stock and really different. I'm thinking about a mannlicher in that style for my Rem model 7 in 308.

Nice shot Rick. Are you launching skippy with 32's or another weight bullte?

I just picked up a 250 count box of Hornedy's 32 grainers from Midway for 29 bucks plus shipping.

Great looking gun. It needs to be used just to honer the memory of your grandfather. I to wish Ruger would make the #3's. My #1B was built in 1979 and is in 243. It's an under one inch gun at a hundred yards. This is the first #1 I've ever owned and though I always wanted one it just never happened ...

You might consider one of the Little Lee hand presses. You can keep all your equipment in a small tool box. They work fine for the 204/223 size cartridges and I've got a friend that uses his for the 30-06. They used standard dies.

I have a 6 by 24 mil dot illumnated reticle BSA that I bought for 99 bucks. It's on a Rem 700 Heavy bbl VLS and It's been a great scope for the money. I'm also on a fixed retirement income and know what you mean. This scope is bright and clear and the adjustments work easily. The illumnated reticle ...

My name is Bob Faucett and I live in a small town in Idaho called Peck. I retired four years ago and now spend my time in my workshop and hunting and fishing. Last fall I bought a CZ Varmit in 204 Ruger to replace my old Ruger #1 243 that my grand daughter decided was hers. I've kinda lurked here an...
