Re: New Barrel for my sweet lil' .204
You Can Call Jim Briggs at Northland Shooters Suppy at 763-682-4296. He carries barrels for your Savage ready to go. He carries two brands Shilen and McGowen. My McGowen in 6.5x284 is very nice, shoots great and cleans well. He used his Shilen to shoot a P-dog at 703 yards, from his 22-250. You can'...

North Dakota July 2009
North Dakota July 2009; Northlander and I took a long drive from the East side of Minnesota to the Western edge of North Dakota for prairie dogs, (580) miles one way. We were looking for new spots to hunt in the National Grasslands or on private land. We found some wonderful people in the small town...

Re: 243 load
My thoughts on a .243 for coyote, any light weight bullet (below 90 Gr and not a FMJ) will open up way to much to save the pelt. You might have better luck with the 100 Gr premium deer bullets. They will not open up so fast as to leave a gapping hole on the back side, but they will still leave a big...

Re: WTB stock
Cracker
Have found a stock yet?? I have a old style wood ADL from a ~mid 60's Rem .243 that I no longer need.
I has seen some use, all three of my girls used it when they started Deer hunting. We could work out a price for the stock and shipping.

Re: Bullet advice
richnmib with that twist I would stay above the 70 gr bullets. In my 8 twist I can not shoot the lighter bullets at full speed, they will not make it to the target. The best groups I shoot are with the 95 and up bullet weights. My .243 AI will shoot any bullet above 85 grs at full speed. Good Luck I...

Long range .204
It is Long range for the 204 anyway. My Brother and I invited our oldest Daughters to come with us for their first P-dog shoot. We had them shoot only the .204 Ruger's, we each have placed a 204 barrel on our Savage M110 FP's. The Burris Balistic-Mildot scopes helped greatly for the Ladies. By the e...

Re: 7mm Remington Magnum - What is your pet load?
My best loads have come with Sierra bullets and IMR powders
For the 140gr SBT I use 4350
and for the 160 gr SBT either 4350 or 4831 one may work better in your rifle.
