Re: How do you guys work up your loads?
Just make sure you only change one thing at a time. (or you'll end up chasing your tail!!) Find you most accurate load then adjust from there. Same powder, same bullet, only change is bullet seated depth.

Re: Lost My Shooting Buddy
This is a "VERY GOOD REASON" to, when you find a True Blue friend, stick to Him/Her like glue, keep in close contact and do things together. Might be that's what THEY need also? GOOD FRIENDS are hard to find. Lost one a couple of years back and I think of him OFTEN. Still miss the good tim...

Re: richards microfit gunstocks
Richard's Micro Fit isn't known for answering email in any hurry. Like Del mentioned, it could take a couple of weeks to get an answer. What I do is send them an order "by mail" with the info for the stock I want, credit card number and wait. So far I've ordered and recieved at least 6+ st...

Re: No brass anywhere !
I "just" sold 100 primed Hornady .204 Ruger cases for $25.00 shipped. Never got a "Got them, Thank You" from the guy. Should have kept them for someone that would have appreciated them more.

Re: Lost My Shooting Buddy
Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like you need to pop a few rounds at one of your favorite shooting spots. He will be there in Spirit, probably waiting for you?

Re: Used Savage may come my way
Maybe smoewhere between $400.00 and $500.00 CASH and work the rest out? And the fact that it's a Savage, you can change it to just about any caliber you want. Set the barrel back to .221 Fireball. Slap a Rifle Basix trigger on it and make it a real shooter.

Re: Going over max load 32g sbk
Looks like the previous post pretty much covered it! If you're running your load "over max", the only place you can go is DOWN. You're not leaving yourself any wiggle room. IMHO, you're better off backing down to an accuracy node where you've got room to work. You load at 55*. You go shoot...

Re: Using the Hornady Comparitor
I use the "Hornady Comparitor" to check each and every brand and style of bullet I shoot. Get my measurements, write it down and use that measurement when seating to the lands. I jam everything and adjust as needed when working up a load. Good investment and well worth the $$. And, it make...

Re: Help please the 35 grain Berger or 39 grain Sierra
IMHO, if you don't have the time to work up an "accurate load", you'de be better off using factory loaded ammo. What works good for one person may not work that good for you in your rig. The object of rolling your own ammo is it will be "tuned" to your rig. Custom loads take time...

Re: Turning Savage .270 win into 6mm Rem
Those two + Douglas, E.R. Shaw, Benchmark, etc. Just about any of the top name barrel makers will get the job done. Depends on who can get you one the fastest. ;) As far as braking the barrel nut loose, the first time can be a real mother. After that, it's a piece of cake. Nut wrench "smacked&q...

Re: 204 contender pistol.
Built one on a Savage Bolt action pistol. NASTY recoil so I had to back WAY DOWN on the powder charge to make it half way comfortable to shoot. Deadly accurate but not that much fun to shoot. Even went with a Harrel's brake. Still not much fun and loud! Finally set it back to 20 VT and it's much mor...

Re: Are "Richard's Microfit Gunstocks" any good???
I've had at one time or another at least 10 RMF stocks. I have 4 right now. All except one is the Benchrest Thumbhole model. Most came pretty rough but as the years go by, they seem to get a little better. Know going in that they'll need work fitting and finishing. Not a drop in by any means. About ...

Re: Do you try to kiss the lands,
None of my barrels are factory. All have been bought in a spacific caliber and with a action in mind. I make it a point to order short throat chambers. Nothing worse that shooting your favorite bullet, seated at the depth you like and the next thing you know, because of throat wears you can't reach ...

Re: Do you try to kiss the lands,
All of my barrels have short throats just so I can jam into the lands at least .010.
Everything I shoot (except my gas guns) starts off with the bullets jammed into the lands. You can always go shorter. And I single feed so I don't have to think about mag length.

Re: 204 or another donor to eventually convert to 20VT
Or, go Savage. (I'am a Savage/Stevens fan, BIG TIME) 8) Just about and .223 will do the job. One in .204 will be more expensive. (New) Savage/Stevens short action, used .204 barrel, set back by shortening the back end of the chamber to fit the 20 VT case with a few more threads added up front so you...
